The academic advisor had already reminded everyone in the class group chat early on to stock up on supplies, and that classes would be canceled the next day.
Around ten o'clock at night, the typhoon arrived as expected.
Although Lin Nan was quite happy about classes being canceled, listening to the wailing sounds outside the dorm that resembled a witch's roar, he felt like this typhoon might also have been brought by Lilith.
Yeah, it was all Lilith's fault.
For once, they turned off the air conditioning in the dorm, and they didn't dare play with their phones either, just keeping them plugged into chargers to ensure they stayed fully charged.
Lin Nan curled up in his blankets, listening to the howling typhoon outside and the wailing of some bored students. Having experienced many typhoons before, he didn't feel much about it–to him it was just a heavy rainstorm.
But Xiong Da, whose hometown was in the inland Central Plains, was very curious. He stood by the door, occasionally opening a crack to feel the raging wind and rain, letting out sighs of amazement before closing the door again in wonder.
"So this is what a typhoon is like?"
Xiong Da usually had a poker face most of the time, but now his expression was extremely animated.
However, the other three had little interest in the typhoon and were worried about power and water outages.
Since they didn't have to attend classes tomorrow, Lin Nan didn't plan to sleep early. He nestled in bed, supporting his cheek with one hand while lying on his side, watching the movie on Tu Junhui's computer screen across from him.
Tu Junhui and Xiong Da had bought computer monitors, so even from a distance, the picture was still very detailed.
"Tu Tu, change it to something else, I can't understand this one." After watching for a while, Lin Nan directed Tu Junhui to try switching from the mind-bending film to an exciting Hollywood blockbuster. "I haven't seen that Transformers movie from a few years ago yet, can you find it for me to watch?"
"Didn't you say you wouldn't watch movies with no substance?"
Tu Junhui casually switched to the movie Lin Nan requested.
Lin Nan noticed that his roommates seemed to be getting more and more tolerant of him lately. Although Tu Junhui still teased him like before, there seemed to be a subtle sense of care for him.
For example, when carrying water upstairs earlier, if it had been before, he definitely would have chosen to carry the lighter snacks instead.
In any case, they subconsciously thought of Lin Nan as helpless.
Chen Yao had always taken good care of him, while Xiong Da often went invisible in the dorm, so he hadn't noticed any change in his attitude toward him.
Anyway, Lin Nan was becoming more and more comfortable staying in the dorm.
Outside the dorm, wind and rain raged. Lifted leaves and branches heavily struck the door, making banging sounds. Although the gap under the door had been stuffed with rags, rainwater still seeped in from outside, and some soaked leaves struggled to squeeze into the room.
The dorm floor would probably be a mess by tomorrow morning.
"Holy shit!" Xiong Da, who had opened a crack to look outside, suddenly exclaimed again, "There's a tree outside that's about to fall!"
"Is it really that intense?" Tu Junhui bounced over excitedly.
Chen Yao had played two games and also climbed onto his bed, lying head-to-head with Lin Nan to watch the movie on Tu Junhui's computer.
He glanced at Tu Junhui, who was at the door with Xiong Da watching the typhoon, then said quietly to Lin Nan: "After your identity changes in the future, you'll probably only be able to rent a place outside to live, right?"
"Or maybe you could live in the girls' dorm?" he wondered.
"I don't know, I'd rather live outside." Lin Nan sighed. "Living outside would be more convenient, but it would be best if I could stay in the dorm."
"Like hell! You probably have no self-awareness at all." Chen Yao rolled his eyes.
"I know I'm handsome!"
"Handsome my ass." The two had their heads close together, and Chen Yao could faintly smell the shampoo fragrance from Lin Nan's hair. He couldn't help but scoot backward, trying to maintain distance from Lin Nan, then continued his roundabout reminder: "It's not like you've never been a man before. What would you do if there was a pretty girl in your dorm?"
"I'd definitely be pretty happy about it." Lin Nan actually understood what Chen Yao meant, but kept playing dumb.
After all, this was currently an unsolvable problem.
He was already being very careful about his daily habits, like showering and changing clothes in the bathroom despite the risk of getting his clothes wet, coming out only after getting dressed properly. But having been used to being a man, he sometimes still unconsciously got too close to his roommates.
Although he'd seen comments like "if I became a girl, I'd let my roommates hit," Lin Nan had no interest in such things.
The typhoon grew fiercer, and the expected power outage occurred.
Last time when the power went out, Lin Nan and the others could still go to internet cafes, but this time the outage probably wasn't limited to just the school.
With the power out, the dorm suddenly became much quieter. Tu Junhui and Xiong Da helplessly groped their way back to bed in the darkness, originally planning to just sleep, but these guys couldn't suppress their inner GHS desires. (TN: Adult content.)
"I posted a video of the eel gate incident in the group chat. This woman is really something." Tu Junhui was the main source of GHS content.
Lin Nan immediately opened the dorm group chat, only to disappointedly discover that the last chat message in the dorm group he had joined was from half a month ago.
"Holy crap!" Chen Yao looked amazed.
"Pretty intense." Xiong Da also exclaimed in admiration.
Lin Nan got up to look at his phone, but Chen Yao unhesitatingly turned in a different direction, pointing his feet toward Lin Nan's face.
Although Xiong Da usually looked sexually frigid, at times like this he was also a skilled support player, silently posting several GIF images in the group.
"This image is a bit much, Western stuff? Disgusting." Tu Junhui had more refined tastes.
"Next time get some Japanese or Korean ones." Chen Yao was a freeloader.
Lin Nan became even more curious, persistently craning his neck trying to see something on Chen Yao's phone, but no matter how he changed angles, he couldn't see his phone screen clearly.
He was getting anxious. This feeling of being excluded wasn't pleasant, and he was genuinely curious about what was actually in there.
So he simply climbed directly onto Chen Yao's bed.
"What are you doing?" Chen Yao looked terrified as he felt a soft body touch his side.
"Let me see!"
Lin Nan used all four limbs, completely ignoring Chen Yao's reaction, quickly crawling to his side, then squeezing out a bit of space for himself on the narrow dorm wooden bed before comfortably craning his neck to look at Chen Yao's phone.
Hmm, several... horses?
"What is this?" Lin Nan asked in confusion, pointing.
"My Little Pony!" Xiong Da explained with a completely straight face. "It's really good!" (TN: That one animated American show.)
"???"
Lin Nan casually snatched Chen Yao's phone. Chen Yao immediately turned over and covered his lower half with the blanket: "There's really nothing, just messing with you."
"I don't believe it! What's this eel gate thing! It sounds improper just from the name!"
"It's the snake woman from Calabash Brothers!" Tu Junhui's voice was full of disdain. "Why is your mind full of dirty thoughts?" (TN: That one animated Chinese show.)
"I don't have any!" Lin Nan scrolled through the chat history and found it really was Calabash Brothers. Scrolling up further, most of it was anime clips from things like Dragon Ball and Dr. Slump. (TN: Those two animated Japanese shows.)
He immediately defended himself sheepishly: "I... was just curious."
Lin Nan felt like his roommates were deliberately targeting him.
Or deliberately teasing him.
He dejectedly crawled back to his own bed, and Chen Yao also sighed somewhat disappointedly.
