Chapter 86

By noon when class ended, the rain had already lessened, so Lin Nan and his two companions hurried toward the school supermarket.

However, when they arrived, they discovered they were already too late.

The entire supermarket looked like it was having some major clearance sale–the students had all turned into aggressive aunties and uncles, desperately surging into the supermarket, frantically buying up all the visible food inside and hauling cases of water outside.

Lin Nan was completely bewildered, but Chen Yao rolled up his sleeves and squeezed in without hesitation.

"Nan Nan, you wait outside, I'm going in too." Tu Junhui relied on his tall and bulky frame, and as soon as he squeezed in, he made everyone around him stumble and sway. He was like a general capable of taking on a thousand enemies, taking heavy steps and shoving aside all the students blocking his path.

Those students who were either too skinny or overly fat all dared to be angry but didn't dare speak up–after all, most students would back down just from taking one look at Tu Junhui's solid build.

He was a man who had worked out before, after all. Although Tu Junhui looked like he'd gotten fat as a ball, his body was still quite robust.

Lin Nan also wanted to squeeze inside, but ever since Lilith's arrival, his stamina and physical fitness were far inferior to ordinary people. He was afraid that if he went in, he'd get knocked down and then trampled mercilessly.

It was all Lilith's fault.

He was somewhat worried that this typhoon would affect his Friday travel plans, yet he also looked forward to the typhoon's arrival giving him a legitimate excuse to avoid the anxiety of facing his parents.

But he also knew this was something he'd have to face sooner or later. Rather than wait until later when he'd completely become a girl or when he looked nothing like his former self, it would be better to face it directly now.

He was torn, wavering between being a coward and just going for it.

"Nan Nan."

A familiar female voice came from behind. Lin Nan suddenly felt someone's arm wrap around his waist, and a tingling electric sensation shot up his spine to his brain, startling him so much he nearly jumped on the spot.

He had never realized his waist was so sensitive.

Turning his head, he saw it was Lina, with the makeup artist Liu Xuefei from last time beside her, as well as two girls he recognized but couldn't name whispering behind them.

"Are you also here to buy water and food?" Lin Nan tried to break free from Lina's restraint.

"Nan Nan's waist is so slender~"

"Right, you couldn't tell when he was wearing that sun protection jacket outside, but now that Lina's holding him, it feels even slimmer than my waist." Liu Xuefei agreed with Lina's assessment with an envious expression.

Lin Nan awkwardly glanced at her waist. This girl was very thin, so her waist naturally appeared slender, but her bone structure seemed a bit large, so even though she was skinny as hell, she still gave off a bloated impression.

"Nan Nan, here's the water. I'm going back in to buy another case." Tu Junhui squeezed out and handed Lin Nan a large case of water, but when he suddenly saw the two girls beside Lin Nan, he paused, stepped back two paces, and asked, "Am I interrupting you all?"

He suddenly got the feeling that Lin Nan was having some kind of girl-on-girl moment.

Lina didn't seem to understand the social etiquette of this world very well, or perhaps as someone of extremely high status in another world, she simply didn't care about such things. She nodded without hesitation and was about to speak, but Lin Nan flicked her forehead, making her swallow her words.

Lina looked so aggrieved, staring pitifully into Lin Nan's eyes, but Lin Nan unceremoniously pried her hands off his waist and stepped forward to take the water from Tu Junhui.

So heavy...

Lin Nan could barely manage to carry this case of water. Seeing this, Lina bounced over and easily lifted it with just one hand grabbing the plastic packaging.

This girl was truly a monster.

Lin Nan suspected that Lina must be loaded with all kinds of buff and passive magic abilities. It must’ve been nothing when she first escaped on the playground. She must be holding back power that could move the Pacific Ocean, what was one weak man?

Of course, it could also be because she had just crossed over and hadn't properly adjusted yet.

Lina's roommates also squeezed in to grab water. After waiting outside for a while, Lin Nan curiously moved closer to Lina again to ask:

"Do you have any magic that can change other people's perceptions?"

"Lilith knows that too." Lina looked up and answered.

"I know..."

If the unlock conditions for that type of magic weren't so completely bottomless, Lin Nan wouldn't be asking Lina for help.

"Then why don't you just learn it yourself?" Lina answered matter-of-factly. "I need to save my magic power to go home. Your magic power doesn't matter - at worst, if you use it all up, you'll just become an ordinary person again."

Speaking of which, Lin Nan had never really felt this so-called magic power.

"So how long can the magic power in my body actually last?" Lin Nan asked curiously.

"With the kind of magic you've been using recently, it should be enough for you to use for decades," Lina said. "But if Lilith and I got into a fight, it might not even last a day."

Lin Nan had never imagined he had so much of this so-called magic power in his body. As far as he could tell, aside from feeling something strange flowing inside his body for the brief moments when using magic, he couldn't sense it at all.

Chen Yao and Tu Junhui finally squeezed out of the supermarket. Tu Junhui was carrying another case of water, while Chen Yao had two large bags of snacks in his hands.

"I'm going back now." Lin Nan said goodbye to Lina, took the case of water, and left with Chen Yao and the others.

After walking a few hundred meters, Tu Junhui looked back toward Lina and asked Lin Nan: "Isn't that the girl who argued with you on the playground last time? Back then, it seemed like you two didn't have a great relationship?"

"During class before, she seemed to always be pestering you too. What's the deal with that girl?"

"Probably pursuing him in reverse?" Chen Yao teased. "The WeChat contact you gave Lin Nan at the last gathering was probably this girl's, right?"

"I don't know." Tu Junhui looked completely confused.

When they returned to the dorm, they found that Xiong Da had already woken up and was lying there playing on his phone. When he heard the sound of the door, he looked toward the entrance and was startled by the sight of several people carrying bags and packages full of stuff.

"Why did you buy so much? Is it the end of the world?"

"You're not from the coast, so you don't know. This typhoon is passing right by our school–there might be water and power outages." Chen Yao found a corner to put down the water, glancing at Lin Nan who had been eating chips like a hamster all the way back, dropping crumbs everywhere. "If you keep eating like this, when the water and power really do get cut off, none of us will have anything to eat."

"It's fine, you bought a lot." Lin Nan hadn't eaten snacks in ages. He was eating so fast he couldn't even swallow before stuffing more into his mouth, making his cheeks puff out.

He hugged a pile of snacks and returned to his seat, unable to chew what was in his mouth but happily opening another package.

Tu Junhui reached out trying to take some snacks, but was stared down by Lin Nan's pitiful gaze and had to withdraw his hand, laughing awkwardly: "I've never seen you like eating snacks before."

"That's because I was poor! When I have money, I'm going to get a whole room just for storing snacks, and eat whenever I want!"

"Yeah, and you're eating quite happily with the money I spent." Chen Yao, who had started up his game, rolled his eyes at Lin Nan from across the room.
