Chapter 85

Lin Nan was now quite troubled by his appearance.

Every day when leaving the dorm to go to class, he could always hear strangers talking about him. He'd been caught twice during roll call by teachers who thought he was doing proxy attendance, and gossip about him was gradually spreading around the class. Some female classmates seemed to look at him with a hint of jealousy.

The masculine contours of his face had only disappeared about a week ago. In his own view, there were still some flaws remaining on his face—things like slight discoloration on his cheekbones, marks left by pimples at the corners of his mouth, small pits on his cheeks, stubborn whiteheads on his nose. There were many flaws, but they weren't obvious. Even Lin Nan had to get almost close enough to touch the mirror to see them clearly. But to outsiders, his skin already seemed outrageously good.

If he used magic again next time, these flaws should be eliminated too, right?

Lin Nan's current mindset was a bit like a girl using skincare products for the first time—seeing his skin improve day by day, he couldn't help wanting to buy more and better skincare products. Except he only needed to unlock magic.

In class, he casually cast a purification spell on himself and felt like his body had become half a pound lighter, feeling much more comfortable all over.

Tu Junhui beside him seemed to sense something, turned to look at him, then asked quietly: "Lin Nan, I noticed you haven't been going to the bathroom lately? Constipated?"

Lin Nan showed an expression like he'd swallowed a fly, looking completely disgusted: "You're actually paying attention to when I go to the bathroom?"

"At least on Tuesday I noticed you basically never went to the balcony while in the dorm." Tu Junhui said with good intentions. "The off-campus clinic sells enemas."

"Disgusting..."

"How is this disgusting? I'm being so considerate—"

Lin Nan shifted his butt, trying to get farther from Tu Junhui, but with just a slight movement, his arm touched Chen Yao on the other side.

Chen Yao glanced at him and asked: "When are you buying the round-trip tickets? Let's try to buy seats on the same train and next to each other so we can look out for each other."

"Isn't that hard to coordinate on the app?" Lin Nan scratched his head. "If we go to the station to buy them, that's at least four hours round trip, maybe five hours including waiting time. And we don't have time during class."

True...

Chen Yao rubbed his temples in frustration. Even if they really had time to go to the station to buy tickets, he didn't want to take that crowded bus that was like a human sardine can.

Their school wasn't actually that far from their hometown county. The bullet train journey was only about an hour, but taking that bus back and forth always took much longer.

It was his fault for not looking at the surrounding transportation when choosing schools. Otherwise, he definitely wouldn't have ended up at such a remote suburban school.

"Just choosing the same train is fine." Lin Nan took out his phone to check the bullet trains around 9 PM on Friday.

Since there weren't any holidays that would cause mass returns home, the bullet train tickets had plenty of availability—basically any choice was fine.

Chen Yao felt that Lin Nan was actually quite dangerous now.

Chen Yao had seen Lin Nan's medical report and knew that although Lin Nan was eighteen, due to delayed development of certain organs, he was just entering puberty. This caused his figure, body, and appearance to rapidly develop in a feminine direction, but cognitively he was still stuck in nearly twenty years of male life experience, never knowing that his current appearance might tempt people to commit crimes.

At least in Chen Yao's understanding, Lin Nan's changes were still quite scientific. After all, aside from his mother, he hadn't had any close bonds with a girl in his life so far.

After Lin Nan leaned over to confirm that Chen Yao had bought a ticket for the same train as him, he looked back toward the teacher on the podium.

Most of the students in class were holding their phones playing games, watching videos, or whispering to each other—basically no one was seriously listening. But the teacher remained unfazed, sitting steadily behind the podium, head down controlling the computer, projecting the computer screen onto the display, then reading from the presentation verbatim.

This teacher didn't take attendance today, and coincidentally Xiong Da, who had stayed up all night and overslept, didn't come to class either. Feeling drowsy from listening to the lecture, Lin Nan was getting the urge to skip class.

Looking back toward the seats near the back door, there had originally been four students there, but now they'd all slipped away without a trace.

It was only mid-October now, with at least two or three months until final exams. Lin Nan wasn't worried at all—when the time came, they'd all go to the library or review in the dorm together anyway. If worse came to worst, he could find some magic like speed reading to use?

Or getting some good cheating magic wouldn't be bad either, something like the Byakugan from Naruto? (TN: Basically being able to see all around him.)

"Nan Nan, want to skip class?" Before Lin Nan could suggest it, Tu Junhui was already asking first.

"I think we should finish this class…" Lin Nan said with extreme temptation. "Who knows if this teacher will take attendance next class."

"Who cares? This teacher has hardly ever taken attendance. Bad luck getting marked absent once or twice doesn't matter." Tu Junhui continued tempting Lin Nan.

Lin Nan nodded without hesitation. Chen Yao beside them didn't agree, but looking at this situation, he also didn't plan to stay in class alone.

However, just as they finished talking, the weather didn't cooperate. It had been sunny just before, but now there was suddenly thunder from a clear sky, followed by pouring rain.

Sounds of student despair could be heard throughout the teaching building.

Since there had been no sign of rain in the morning, most students hadn't prepared umbrellas at all.

The three who had been planning to skip class were all stunned, turning to look at the heavy rain outside the windows and the students by the windows hurriedly closing them.

Now no one could skip class. If the rain lasted long, they might even have to run back to the dorm in the rain.

The happiest people right now should be those freshmen in military training. The school didn't have enough indoor venues, so those freshmen would definitely be dismissed on the spot to return to their dorms and play games.

"I think there's supposed to be a typhoon today..." Tu Junhui just remembered the news he'd seen a couple days ago. "No wonder the wind is so strong today."

"Where's it making landfall?"

"Not very far from school, I think?" Tu Junhui scratched his head, then opened his phone to check the typhoon path. Finally, he sighed mournfully: "Super typhoon. We might be right in the typhoon's path. The school will probably lose power..."

Lin Nan looked shocked.

Although he lived on the coast, he'd actually only experienced two major typhoons in his entire life, and had no memory of them. Other typhoons usually just brought some refreshing coolness to summer days.

Chen Yao was also checking the typhoon path map while complaining: "This typhoon suddenly took a turn toward us—there must be something wrong with its brain. But it won't make landfall until tomorrow. We should stock up on food and drinks today, otherwise it'll be troublesome if we lose water and power."

"Should we go back and tape up the windows?" Lin Nan suggested.

"That stuff doesn't work—it's been debunked..."
