Starting from the Planetary Governor - Chapter 106

Chapter 106: Ceremony Completed

Gu Hang knew that this Original High Priest hadn’t put all his focus into facing the Star Warriors and Battle Nun.

It wasn’t because he looked down on his opponents.

Although Trico was powerful, he wasn’t strong enough to be that overconfident.

In fact, that guy likely had something more important to do. Something even more crucial than this battle, more important than his own life.

It seemed like he was performing some kind of ritual.

In Gu Hang’s psionic vision, he could faintly see one strand of psionic energy extending from Trico’s body.

One of these strands extended to the top of the tower, to the blade of the wind turbine; there were five others spread across the blades of five other turbines in the power plant.

Many more strands spread out, forming one group after another, extending all the way to the horizon.

Although Gu Hang couldn’t see the end of them, he could guess that these psionic connections probably extended to the other seven power plants as well.

After discovering this, Gu Hang had a thought and, through his psionic abilities, sent a command to Pobov, who was stationed outside.

“Destroy all the wind turbine installations, including the one we’re currently in. Execute immediately!”

“Notify Yan Fangxu to deploy additional forces to the other seven wind power plants, eliminate everyone there, and destroy the facilities.”

After sending this message, Gu Hang saw that Trico’s gaze was fixed on him.

Clearly, although his psionic communication hadn’t been intercepted, the old man had likely ‘heard’ it.

Gu Hang responded with a smile, carrying a hint of provocation.

Of course, at this moment, Gu Hang also raised his guard to the highest level.

If this seemingly crazed old man decided to attack him, he would respond immediately, aiming to quickly move his body and defend himself using his mental powers.

The pressure was indeed considerable; this old man was a far stronger psion than he was.

However, Trico didn’t lose his composure as his earlier crazed demeanor suggested. He ignored Gu Hang and continued with his own work.

Gu Hang felt slightly disappointed.

If the old man had been provoked and attacked him, it might have indicated that Gu Hang had struck a nerve.

Since he didn’t react, did it mean the power plants weren’t essential?

Who cares.

The wind power plants held little value to Revival City anyway; better to destroy them first and deal with it later.

Pobov resolutely carried out Gu Hang’s orders.

He selected demolition experts to start setting explosives on each of the windmills outside.

This scene didn’t go unnoticed by Gu Hang either.

Seeing this, he felt reassured.

Then, Gu Hang began to study the wind wall standing before them.

He had been observing this wind wall for quite some time, unable to find a clear solution to break it.

But now, he had a clue, especially after the gray-robed Emissary had been transformed into a lightning entity and entered the wind wall.

This maneuver, of course, reinforced the wind wall.

With this lightning-man causing disturbances within, the three main attackers of the wind wall would be harassed during their assault, diverting their attention, effectively making the wind wall even harder to break.

In Gu Hang’s eyes, however, this was a potential weakness.

When that guy merged with the wind wall, Gu Hang had already started making some small moves.

He was carefully controlling his efforts, trying not to be too overt.

He was attempting to use his newly acquired ability, *Mind Control*, to influence the being moving within the wind wall.

If Trico noticed and intervened, his plan might fail.

Thus, he preferred to proceed slowly but carefully.

Now, success was close.

But at that moment, he saw Trico slowly lower his hands.

With his white hair flowing, Trico looked at the enemies in front of the wind wall and said,

“The harder you lapdogs of the False Emperor try, the more pathetic you appear.”

“This city is destined to be elevated in the eyes of the gods, purified in the storm.”

“Your little tricks are meaningless!”

As he spoke, Trico’s grin was utterly crazed.

It was as if he had already completed his grand, most critical task, and now he could finally let loose, reveling in triumph.

Gu Hang’s expression grew stern.

Was the ritual already complete?

Could he no longer stop it?

What exactly was the purpose of this ritual?

According to Sister Gretel, it involved sacrificing the entire city, but… in what manner would it be sacrificed?

By the raging storm outside?

Would it soon transform into a cataclysmic, apocalyptic tempest?

Gu Hang speculated with a troubled expression.

While contemplating, he continued cautiously applying his *Mind Control* technique.

He even attempted to speak, hoping to elicit more information from Trico through provocation or taunting.

Villains did have a tendency to be talkative.

However, at that moment, a loud explosion pierced through the raging storm outside.

Immediately, the ground beneath them shook violently, and the entire tower began to collapse.

The six wind turbines in this area, including the one that supported the tower they were currently in, had all been destroyed by Pobov’s team outside.

When Pobov received the demolition order, he hesitated.

The other five wind turbines were no issue, but should he also blow up the one with the Governor still inside?

The Governor himself was still there!

But since the Governor had specifically mentioned in his orders that the tower he occupied was to be included, Pobov had to comply.

The Governor was always right!

Since the Governor had spoken urgently, and given that they weren’t trained in structural demolition, they had loaded extra explosives to ensure destruction.

At this moment, Gu Hang couldn’t waste time with provocation or verbal exchanges.

He immediately poured psionic energy into a protective barrier, shielding the Star Warriors and Battle Nun.

From a height of four or five stories, the fall might not cause any casualties, but getting temporarily buried under rubble would be troublesome.

Waiting for them to dig themselves out would take who knows how long.

Of course, their armor provided a certain degree of psionic resistance.

Their willpower was also strong, preventing Gu Hang from directly applying his telekinesis on them.

However, Gu Hang wasn’t so rigid.

He controlled the shattered floor panels and debris from the explosion to create a temporary floating platform, supporting everyone on his side and slowly guiding them to the ground.

Meanwhile, as a more powerful psion, Trico easily managed the same feat.

He and his 360-degree surrounding wind wall landed safely together.

Gu Hang opened his mouth slightly, intending to probe with words about the destruction of the six wind turbines.

But then he looked up, and the sight left him speechless.

Although the wind turbines had been destroyed, at their previous positions in the air, massive blades formed from white mist continued to spin.

At the same time, an even more terrifying change occurred.

From those blades made of white mist, white winds began to blow, gradually coalescing into the image of a monstrous creature in midair.

It looked like an owl beast standing over ten meters tall.
