Chapter 92: Who Could Refuse to Launch Their Own School into Space?
However, Gu Ke quickly recovered from her dejected mood.
When it came to setbacks, she’d already experienced countless blows since entering Evil University.
As the child of one of the Evil Council’s founders, naturally she attended the best Evil University within the Council’s sphere of influence.
At university, wherever Gu Ke went, she was surrounded by talented individuals with pleasant voices—she loved being there.
If there was one downside, it would be—there were too many talented people around.
Each had their own extraordinary skills, each had a unique secret technique. Their fighting spirit and perseverance dazzled everyone, and their secret weapons often gave Gu Ke “surprises.”
Especially her roommate Yi Ning.
Always brimming with inspiration, always inventing something new, and always stirring up fresh chaos.
During their four years at university, practically everyone in the school had been affected by one of Yi Ning’s evil inventions.
The Evil Science teachers she blasted into the sky and the number of teaching buildings she blew up both exceeded what one could count on two hands.
At the extreme, she once turned half the campus population into various animals.
Oh.
No!
Yi Ning couldn’t be entirely blamed for that one.
After all, according to her original plan, the entire campus was only supposed to be transformed into Jurassic-era creatures.
Unfortunately, her plan to transform the school into a Jurassic Park and sell tickets was sabotaged before it could even begin—by Xia An and Ji Ping.
After she built the machine meant to create Jurassic Park, Xia An, that troublemaker, goaded Ji Ping into secretly activating the machine while Yi Ning was out collecting Jurassic DNA.
If not for Gu Ke constantly cleaning up after the three of them, they would have been expelled long ago.
Every student at Evil University was a force to be reckoned with, but even so, Yi Ning was the most chaotic figure in the school’s nearly century-long history.
So as Yi Ning’s friend, Gu Ke had naturally developed a bit of skill when it came to quickly adjusting her mood.
Nothing special—just practice.
Recalling their glorious university days, Gu Ke quietly rolled her eyes.
The more she remembered, the more exhausted she felt.
That Yi Ning—she was a genius when it came to causing trouble.
And the stunts she pulled came fast and heavy, with no regard for others.
Their other roommate, Xia An, was the same—a genius at seeking death.
She seemed completely unconcerned with her own life, always managing to step right on Yi Ning’s last nerve and then getting thoroughly dealt with.
Worse, she always dragged Ji Ping into it too.
Their dorm had four people, and Gu Ke was always the one left to clean up after the chaos.
“All right, all right, that’s enough.”
Gu Ke waved a hand at Yi Ning, intending to end the communication for today.
She gestured to the attendant girl to cut the connection with Yi Ning.
However, the attendant didn’t comply right away. Instead, she leaned down again and whispered in Gu Ke’s ear.
“Miss, you’ve forgotten something.”
At those words, Gu Ke tilted her head, thought for a moment, then showed a look of realization.
“Oh, right!”
She suddenly pounded her fist into her palm.
“My dad asked me to pass a message to you.”
A message for her?
This time it was Yi Ning’s turn to be confused.
Although she’d spent all her university days hanging out with Gu Ke—the daughter of a founder of the Evil Council—she’d never really felt the weight of that identity. Gu Ke had a very easy going personality, so unless she was paying for something, Yi Ning had never particularly thought about her connection to the Council’s founders.
But that changed today.
To be honest, Yi Ning felt a little excited.
Gu Ke, naturally, could sense Yi Ning’s excitement, though she couldn’t quite understand it.
“Is it really that exciting?”
“That’s someone you see on TV every day! Most people would be a little thrilled, right?”
“But haven’t you been on TV too?”
“That’s different, okay?”
Hearing Gu Ke mention it, Yi Ning’s gaze drifted a little.
She’d only been interviewed on that bizarre evil behavior showcase program because she installed engines under the school and launched the entire campus into space. That was nothing like the regular interviews Gu Ke’s dad did with major media outlets.
And besides, that showcase was just a local TV segment—how could that compare to national television?
Seeing the guilty look on Yi Ning’s face, Gu Ke remembered that incident too.
She pressed her temples helplessly.
Because she had also been complicit in launching the school into space.
She had helped install the engines beneath the school.
Though she’d only done so after being talked into it by Xia An.
She still vaguely remembered...
It was the first Sunday of the first semester of freshman year. They had just started school and didn’t know each other well.
That night, Xia An had mysteriously pulled her into a secluded corner and asked if she wanted to “contribute to the school.”
Back then, she had just been a wealthy newbie from a powerful family. Since her father had no intention of letting him get involved in family matters, she had more freedom than her older brothers—and was more naive.
She had the childish notion of wanting to contribute to the school’s evil endeavors and had no idea how cruel the world could be.
So, muddle-headed, she agreed to Xia An’s idea of “contributing to the school,” and followed him into the school’s underground. There, he introduced her to the “great” plan “personally” and “secretly” assigned by the principal to Yi Ning.
To transform the entire school into a spaceship.
She had seen Yi Ning’s capabilities at the start of the semester, and the principal had indeed said during the opening ceremony that he hoped to one day lead the students to the stars. So she agreed without much thought.
It wasn’t until they had spent a whole week completing the transformation and were about to launch the school into space that she realized something was off.
An event this major didn’t even come with a ceremony? And why hadn’t the principal shown up for this milestone moment?
Shouldn’t he be the one to push the launch button himself?
And just as she voiced this question, Yi Ning and the others gave her a ** smile.
Then, under the phrase “you’re an accomplice too,” they forced her to press the ignition button.
Gu Ke covered her face in despair.
That was the beginning of their accursed fate.
