Chapter 17: Mechanized BOSS, Don’t Be Reckless
“Here comes the third phase.”
Looking at Lu Zheng, who was provoking her, Yi Ning sneered with disdain.
Still the same point—the entire surface of the Evil Laboratory Base was under her control. Unless Lu Zheng could turn all the ground into ash in an instant, he would be eternally stuck at the BOSS stage.
The endless stone army and the two doors once again charged toward Lu Zheng. At the same time, the ground beneath Lu Zheng suddenly split, forcing him to shift sideways.
“What the heck?”
Lu Zheng looked down, trying to dodge the attacking stone weapons, but the ground beneath him suddenly bulged, forcibly pushing him right into the path of the stone weapons.
Left with no choice, he caught the stone man’s weapon barehanded, kicked its chest, then spun his wrist to deflect the incoming attacks, punching and kicking the rest into rubble.
“The doors are coming~”
Yi Ning, enjoying the show, sat on a stone chair and cupped her hands around her mouth, loudly reminding Lu Zheng.
Lu Zheng turned to look, only to see the two doors standing right behind him. As he turned, the doors “clacked” together, sandwiching Lu Zheng like a cookie filling.
Then, the earth cracked and swallowed the cookie whole, returning to its flat, original form.
“Is it over...”
Yi Ning accepted a cup of tea handed to her by a stone-man guard, took a gentle sip, and patted the stone chair beneath her.
The chair carried Yi Ning swiftly away from the section of ground that had swallowed Lu Zheng.
The next second, the earth shook violently. The ground cracked open again as Lu Zheng, bracing with both hands, pried apart the doors and climbed out of the fissure they had formed.
“While I didn’t think something like that could trap you, the way you got out is just absurd!”
Yi Ning, watching Lu Zheng jam the doors into the crack and then forcefully close it with his bare hands, felt a chill down her spine.
“Any more tricks? Just bring them on!”
Lu Zheng waved at Yi Ning.
“It might be hard to hear this after all that effort, but the BOSS’s third health bar hasn’t moved at all.”
As Yi Ning finished speaking, the sealed crack burst open again. The two doors slowly rose from underground.
“My Yuchi Gong and Qin Shubao are still completely unharmed.”
The doors slowly approached Lu Zheng, and countless stone soldiers once again rose from the ground.
“What are you going to do?”
Yi Ning sat cross-legged on the stone chair, hands on her calves, leaning forward.
Facing the endless army, Lu Zheng felt a headache coming on.
He looked at Yi Ning, seated far away.
Since the stone army couldn’t be killed off, he would ignore them and go straight for the source.
He bent down slightly, leapt forward, and used the heads of the stone soldiers as stepping stones, rushing straight toward Yi Ning. In no time, he was upon her.
However, Yi Ning, sitting upright in the stone chair, didn’t panic. Instead, she wore a look of “just as I expected.”
It was a trap!
Lu Zheng instinctively tried to retreat, but it was too late.
A door that had somehow appeared before him slammed him in the face. Then, the stone men arranged themselves around the doors in a formation Lu Zheng couldn’t understand. They flew above him and morphed into a mountain, pressing down hard.
Unfortunately, even with the doors added in, the mountain still couldn’t suppress Lu Zheng.
Using his exposed hands, he supported himself on the ground and, with brute strength, actually lifted the mountain.
“This is ridiculous.” Yi Ning couldn’t help blurting out her thoughts at the sight. “Should I be putting a golden tag on him too?”
Luckily, the mountain trembled for only a moment before Lu Zheng slumped back to the ground.
Wait, no.
If he really couldn’t lift it, Lu Zheng wouldn’t have that expression.
Seeing the joyful emoji on Lu Zheng’s pixel screen, Yi Ning sensed danger.
She followed the direction of Lu Zheng’s screen.
There it was—the Super Invincible Hypnotizer that had hypnotized the entire ground and the doors.
Because it was too close to Lu Zheng, Yi Ning hadn’t dared to retrieve it herself.
She now regrets it.
She should have had her stone soldiers sneak it over to her earlier.
Lu Zheng looked at the machine and smirked.
It was common knowledge that destroying the hypnosis app would restore the hypnotized.
Though the ground and doors weren’t human, it should work the same.
Lu Zheng punched the mountain, crushing him, caught a falling stone, and hurled it at the machine.
“Bang!”
The Super Invincible Hypnotizer was smashed open by the rock.
Electric currents flickered over the machine, then with a “boom,” it exploded.
The mountain pressing down on Lu Zheng began to collapse and returned to the earth. The two doors also lost their combat power and slumped to the ground.
While Lu Zheng was focused on the Super Invincible Hypnotizer, Yi Ning quietly jumped down from her chair and crept along the wall toward the door.
“Clang!”
Lu Zheng hurled one of the doors at Yi Ning, embedding it into the wall right in front of her.
“Stay right there!”
Lu Zheng casually walked over, grabbed Yi Ning by the collar, and lifted her. He flexed his free right hand in front of her and clenched it into a fist.
Hearing the “crack” of bones, Yi Ning got a little nervous.
She raised both hands: “Um, how about we make a deal?”
“Boom——”
Thunder rumbled inappropriately.
Both of them helplessly looked toward the thunder.
“Anyway, just listen—it won’t hurt.”
Fine.
Lu Zheng nodded at Yi Ning, indicating she should speak.
“I’ll let you touch it, and you let me go.”
Yi Ning proudly puffed up her flat chest.
Lu Zheng’s face darkened.
What kind of image did this woman have of him? Did she really think he could be tempted by something like that?
He was a hero, after all. How could he accept such a deal?

Seeing Yi Ning’s flushed face, Lu Zheng let go of his grip, letting her gently land on the ground.
What? He actually let go?
His brain was still hesitating, but his hand had decided on its own to release her.

But to Lu Zheng’s surprise, Yi Ning, upon landing, jumped back a few steps and gave him the finger.
She was breaking the deal!
“You fell for it, you filthy pig full of lewd thoughts! Did you really think I’d satisfy your dirty, perverted desires?”
Not only that, she stuck her tongue out at him like a mischievous child.
Even though he had been tricked, seeing Yi Ning with her bright red face, unable even to maintain a proper smug expression, Lu Zheng unexpectedly felt... maybe he hadn’t lost that badly after all.
