Chapter 114: You Going to Lick It, Then?
Lick?
Lu Zheng looked up once at Yi Ning, then lowered his gaze to the foot she’d presented.
Was he really supposed to lick it?
He knelt there, silent and tense.
To be fair, Yi Ning was the definition of a top-tier beauty in her current form.
Her bust might have been modest, but everything else was flawless — including her feet.
Delicate and pinkish, with slender toes and pleasantly plump heels. The nails were neatly trimmed, the pink-and-white crescents adding allure.
Perhaps he’d stared too long — her toes were pressed tightly together like pearls in a row, occasionally brushing against each other, creating a subtle, stirring effect.
Lu Zheng unconsciously recalled a famous literary quote — crudely put, “mouth-watering.” His mind raced.
Still, he had some dignity as a hero. He wouldn’t degrade himself for mere beauty.
After all, this was an apology.
Swallowing hard, he carefully removed Yi Ning’s shoe and held her foot gently.
“Shall I... really lick it?” he asked.
“Just do it!” Yi Ning stamped her slippered foot impatiently.
Taking a deep breath, Lu Zheng respectfully removed her shoe. Yi Ning blinked in surprise.
He lifted her foot solemnly, parted his lips — ready to lick.
Yi Ning froze. What was happening?
Luckily, instinct kicked in. She snatched her foot away and kicked his face fiercely.
Lu Zheng stumbled backward, almost falling, clutching his face in shock as if asking, “But you asked me to!”
He was a young man in his twenties—this kick hurt deeply.
Seeing his confused, innocent expression, a flush crept over Yi Ning’s cheeks—but from anger, not embarrassment.
“I said lick my shoe sole! Not my foot!” she snapped, then used her foot to wipe nonexistent spit off her shoe using Lu Zheng’s shirt.
“Ugh…”
She looked at the shoe, still feeling splotches of imagined saliva, then rubbed it against his shirt again as if to cleanse the filth.
Lu Zheng knelt awkwardly, utterly still.
It made sense—she was furious, not in a mood to reward him with something sweet. She wanted him humiliated—licking her shoe was reasonable.
He blamed himself for being so enthralled by her beautiful feet.
A few moments passed before he retrieved his slipper from the floor and offered it to her with care.
“So... should I lick—your shoe soles now?”
Truthfully, he wanted to ask if spitting afterward was allowed — he wasn’t into saliva on shoes — but given the situation, he dared not cross any lines.
He had to convince himself that a beauty’s shoe sole was fragrant.
Right now, calming Yi Ning down was most important.
But instead of letting him, Yi Ning kicked his face again — hard enough to break a nose if he wasn’t sturdy.
“Do you still want me to reward you?”
Still furious, she again rubbed his face with her shoe, clearly enjoying the humiliation.
“Hmph!”
She pulled her foot away, smirked oddly, then immediately reverted to her furious expression.
“If you want my forgiveness, take off your clothes and run two laps around D‑City!”
Then she kicked his face once more, twisted her head, and rubbed her shoe on his cheek again — seemingly relishing the sensation.
But no matter how much she rubbed, she couldn’t recapture that initial cathartic satisfaction. Soon, her expression became oddly composed.
Strange.
She kicked him a few more times.
“Uh…”
While Yi Ning was still hunting for that same thrill, Lu Zheng had removed his shirt and reached a finger toward Yi Ning’s shoe pressing his face.
“When running, can I cover my face?” he asked, clinging to whatever shred of dignity he had left.
Asking this was as foolish as pestering a teacher about homework the day school is cancelled—if you ask, expect a refusal.
Sure enough, Yi Ning glared at his muscles, rubbed her shoe across his face again, and firmly said, “No!”
Lu Zheng sighed in helplessness. He’d been mentally prepared for this — no complaints.
If sacrificing his dignity would calm her, he was fine with that.
He didn’t know many people in D‑City. The shame wouldn’t reach his hero persona, Pixel Mask, nor harm the Hero Association’s image.
He undid his belt and began to remove his pants.
But just as he grasped his underwear, he remembered—
He did bring apology gifts for Yi Ning!
He quickly grabbed the clothes from the floor, retrieved the gift, and offered it.
“I just remembered—I brought you an apology gift.”
“?”
She tilted her head. She had gifts, he had gifts? Confused, she placed it on the table and fiddled with it.
Click.
A cute chibi robot popped out from a capsule — complete with a toy knife in its hand.
Lu Zheng froze. This was the gift he asked Dr. Mandel to design and had spent nearly half his Hero Association contribution points on.
Trusting Mandel, he hadn’t checked its content. Now he blinked, unsure.
Was this really something that an evil genius would love? It looked... questionable.
Thankfully, the robot came with a card — instruction manual included.
Yi Ning read it, then inserted the toy knife into the robot’s hand.
“If you want it, then you'll have to take it.” the robot said in a familiar voice.
Lu Zheng: “?”
That was it? Just that? The gift... talked?
