Chapter 113

Chapter 113: Lick It

Dr. Alien’s Evil Laboratory Base.

Lu Zheng leaned against the car door, took out his phone, and glanced at the time.

09:05

It was already Yi Ning’s work time.

He walked to the front door of Yi Ning’s base and rang the bell.

Should be okay to visit now, right?

Yi Ning had just clocked in right on time, sitting cross-legged in her chair, gloomily blow-drying her hair.

Why was this damn hair so much trouble to deal with?

Back then, it took her barely a few minutes to dry her hair and move on to other things.

But now, even after half the morning, her hair was still only half-dry.

Ding! Favorability toward long hair: -1

In this long process, Yi Ning had heard such messages from the void multiple times.

If this continued, long-haired Yi Ning might soon be gone for good.

She switched legs, squirmed a bit, and started pondering how to link the Super Invincible Hair Care Machine to her world domination plans.

She never hesitated to use public funds for her own convenience.

Ding-dong~

The doorbell rang.

Yi Ning instinctively looked toward the front door.

Who would come looking for her this early in the morning?

As soon as the question arose, the answer surfaced in her mind.

Who else but that pervert hero who pestered girls all the time?

Yi Ning stood up and walked toward the surveillance screen while still blow-drying her hair.

She didn’t really want to deal with Lu Zheng, so naturally, she stalled as much as possible.

But stalling had its limits.

After confirming on the monitor that it really was Lu Zheng outside, Yi Ning walked over and opened the door with visible displeasure.

When the door opened, Lu Zheng was taken aback by Yi Ning’s expression.

Droopy face, tilted head, rolled-up eyes showing only the whites, and a mouth exaggeratedly stretched wide.

Yi Ning’s expression was, to say the least, quite abstract.

“Uh…”

Lu Zheng reflexively wanted to laugh.

But remembering his purpose here, he forced himself to keep a straight face, resulting in a stiff, awkward grin.

“Pfft—”

“What’s that face supposed to be?”

Thankfully, his stiff smile was so ridiculous that even abstract-faced Yi Ning broke into laughter.

The tension between them eased significantly.

“Alright, enough.”

Yi Ning sighed and raised the hair dryer again to continue drying her hair.

She had planned to show her displeasure with that exaggerated expression, but unfortunately, Lu Zheng was too good at giving her a taste of her own medicine, making her laugh before she could get mad.

But laughing did improve her mood.

“So, what are you here for?”

Of course, Yi Ning knew why Lu Zheng came, but with a flicker of hope, she still asked.

Maybe it was for something else?

At that thought, Yi Ning couldn’t help but curl her lips in self-mockery.

She bent slightly, ran her fingers through her hair, and used the act of blow-drying to hide her smile.

The pink strands floated in the warm air, some drifting onto Lu Zheng’s cheeks, tickling him.

Yi Ning did it on purpose.

It was a minor act of revenge for the uninvited intrusion.

But her long stretch without contact with cute girls had made her forget—any normal teenage boy full of hormones would struggle not to have strange thoughts about a beautiful girl.

The faint scent of shampoo lingering on the hair made Lu Zheng briefly distracted.

Fortunately, his job involved spending most of his time with two beautiful girls, giving him some resistance. He snapped out of it quickly.

Lu Zheng took a few steps back and brushed the hair off his face.

“I came about Rigil.”

Of course!

Yi Ning rolled her eyes slightly and swept her hair back, then pointed the hair dryer at Lu Zheng’s face and turned it to full blast.

Blow your damn face off.

“I thought I told you, that guy was going to disa—”

Yi Ning paused mid-sentence.

Has she ever told Lu Zheng Rigil’s name?

“Actually, I went to his hotel last night and arrested him. We’re processing the paperwork now and trying to get him locked up as soon as possible.”

“Ha↑?”

Yi Ning’s eyes widened in disbelief.

How the hell were they that efficient?

Seeing her stunned expression, Lu Zheng gave a sheepish smile.

He snapped his fingers and pulled the breakfast he’d prepared from the storage space, offering it to Yi Ning.

“How about we go inside and talk while we eat?”

Yi Ning glanced at the plastic bag in his hand, hesitated for two seconds, then jerked her thumb toward the inside.

“Come in.”

“So you, you dog-ass bastard, just took the surveillance footage from my base and used it to arrest Rigil on the spot?”

Yi Ning sat in her chair, slowly spooning up bites of the tofu pudding Lu Zheng brought.

Of course—it was savory.

“Uh… more or less.”

Lu Zheng sat up straight across from her, looking a bit uneasy.

Yi Ning’s expression was just too calm. Aside from occasionally tossing out insults, she was emotionally unreadable.

“Um… so…”

Lu Zheng hesitated, then lowered his head slightly, cautiously looking at Yi Ning.

“Are you not… angry?”

He asked!

He actually asked!

As soon as the words left his mouth, Lu Zheng’s heart started pounding faster.

He couldn’t help it—Yi Ning’s reaction was just too weird.

The weirdness made him so uncomfortable he didn’t know where to put his hands and feet.

Honestly, he would have preferred if Yi Ning just snapped, grabbed a chair, and bashed it over his head.

But unfortunately, Yi Ning remained the same as before.

She didn’t say much—just scooped another spoonful of tofu pudding, slowly put it in her mouth, then placed the spoon back in the bowl.

Then, in the next second—

“I’m so mad I could die!”

Yi Ning flipped the table, sending the half-eaten bowl of tofu pudding flying—straight onto Lu Zheng’s head.

This explosive outburst of emotion actually made Lu Zheng feel a bit relieved.

He didn’t care at all about the bowl or the tofu pudding now slathering him—he immediately dropped into a deep, dramatic kneel before Yi Ning.

“Hontoni sumimasen!”

Lu Zheng had prepared himself mentally on the way here, so he knelt without the slightest hesitation.

Yi Ning glanced at him, then grabbed the overturned table, seemingly trying to right it.

Wait a minute—

This was all Lu Zheng’s fault. Why was she the one cleaning up the mess?

She promptly let go and sat back in her chair, arms crossed, looking down at Lu Zheng.

“You. Pick up the table and move it aside.”

Lu Zheng, still on the floor, looked confused by the command but didn’t question it. As the guilty party, he obediently got up, set the table aside, and knelt back down beside Yi Ning.

Yi Ning looked at him: “You want me to forgive you?”

Lu Zheng nodded eagerly and reached into his pocket to retrieve the apology gift.

But before he could—

Yi Ning cut him off.

She crossed one leg over the other and stretched a foot toward him.

“Then lick it.”
