Hello,
I’ve brought the promised Q&A.
Also, for the celebration of the finale, I received an overwhelming amount of support… Both in the Q&A questions and the support messages, there were multiple mentions, so I’ve inserted a short afterword at the start.
It consists of some excerpts planned for the various side stories except “The Knight of the Knights.”
For the ongoing stories, I appreciate your patience to wait for each side story!
Additionally, due to the epilogue, afterwords, and Q&A works, the thank-you message for the support has been delayed a bit. I hope for your understanding in this matter…
Now, here’s the Q&A! It’s brimming with spoilers. I’m not sure if spoiler warnings mean much in a TS series, but I’m putting them up anyway.
『Spoilers Ahead』
1. What’s happening with the side stories?
They will be serialized in the following order: (1) To My Ark: Ark Side Story, (2) It’s Alright to Be Crazy: Revan Side Story, (3) You Are a Star to Me: StarPork Side Story, (4) The Knight of the Knights: Game Possession Side Story.
Cut String: Ruin Side Story was eliminated, as it received 678 recommendations and 764 dislikes, and the rule is that side stories with more dislikes than recommendations would be eliminated.
2. Any plans to serialize the Ruin Side Story?
No, given that so many people didn’t want to see it. As stated, I don’t want to include content in the novel (especially at the end) that readers do not desire.
The Ruin Side Story wasn’t about something bad happening to Yena. Rather, it aimed to depict more of her ruined state. It planned to cover the pre-possession story of Lee Yena (including her gymnastics career, etc.) and delve deeper and darker into her relationship with her sister… this content somewhat diverged from the main flow of the harsh broadcast.
It’s a shame the story of Lee Yena’s past won’t be explored, but the outcome is understandable.
3. Is there no Harem/Two-Timing side story?
Sadly, no, there’s not. Given Yena’s personality, she likely couldn’t consciously maintain a harem. Unless absolutely necessary.
4. Why did Lee Yena target Ark?
As stated in the main story, it was because she watched Ark’s broadcast in her previous life. For more details, please look forward to Ark’s side story.
5. Why did the Warrior hate it?
Please look forward to Revan’s side story.
6. Who is she with after 7 years…? Can you at least reveal the gender?
This part will not be disclosed. It was deliberately left vague. I’ve painstakingly removed any clues that might hint at it, including the gender.
7. Would you consider writing a second part or sequel to the main story of Lee Yena?
Other than the epilogue, no, since the camera has been turned off.
Of course, there’s a possibility that I might write side stories that I haven’t mentioned in the postscript (that is, without a vote). Side stories are like IF scenarios… so I could write those without going through a voting process. However, for now, I have no plans.
8. What happens to the results and skins of the KoK World Championship?
Details about the future of the main storyline that overlap with IF side stories are all confidential. Please look forward to the IF side stories.
9. Who took Lee Yena to the emergency room just before the possession?
It was a topic intended to be covered in a depravity side story, so I can’t provide much detail. Briefly, it was a suicide attempt performed while she was sitting against the outer side of her front door (in the hallway), and she was found by chance and rescued by someone whose name was not mentioned in the main story.
10. Do you have plans to release emojis?
I did have plans, but I had to give them up due to a lack of time. I decided to use the time that would have been invested in creating emojis to write the novel instead.
‘Malicious Broadcast’ was not a fast-paced serialization by any means, so I needed to devote all available time to it.
11. What about a real-life camping story with everyone / The Rogue 2?
The camping story was intended to be included in various side stories, and parts of it were included in the epilogue. Unfortunately, the Rogue 2 was omitted due to overlapping content with the camping story.
We did actually do a joint broadcast. Whether it will appear in a side story remains uncertain.
12. Will there be a time when Lee Yena sings?
Yes. She will come to like a song and will sing it for someone.
13. Are Lee Yena’s parents deceased?
No, they are alive. However, for certain reasons, they are practically estranged.
14. Will Lee Yena’s past before the possession be revealed?
No… the depravity side story died off.
15. How old is Lee Yena currently?
As of the conclusion, she is 22 years old in Korean age, 20 years old by international age.
16. Which university was Lee Yena attending?
She was attending the law department of a top-three university (influenced by her older sister). Whether the main story’s Lee Yena will return to university is left to the readers’ imagination.
17. Is there a possibility that Lee Yena will tell others (like Lee Yeri) about her possession?
Lee Yena would never directly tell anyone her secret. It was her way of taking responsibility.
18. Did Yena know she was a villain?
Sometimes she did, sometimes she didn’t. When she knew, she wasn’t really confident about it. Don’t trust Yena’s first-person narration too much.
19. What did Yena think when she saw sexually harassing comments?
Her thoughts were a tangled mess, and she couldn’t pin down just one feeling. It could be laughable, shameful, and make her feel deeply guilty as they genuinely reflected on her true self. Sometimes, though, she felt a bit pleased, thinking they were distorted expressions of fan affection.
The ratio of these thoughts varied depending on the timeline of the series.
20. From where did KoK Rogues draw inspiration?
They drew inspiration from many characters and games. Notably, they were influenced by Talon and Master Yi from ‘League of Legends,’ Rogue from ‘Dark and Darker,’ Musketress from ‘DualGate,’ and The Silent from ‘Slay the Spire.’
Efforts were made to ensure that characters from specific games didn’t immediately come to mind. Whether that effort was successful is unknown.
21. Are Rogues truly overpowered or just trash?
In the context of Season 1 of the main story, if every element of the Rogue class is thoroughly researched and the team fully understands how to operate it, then it is indeed overpowered (OP). However, if research is lacking, their performance drops sharply, and if the team is ignorant of how to operate them, their performance plummets. Therefore, at the start of the series, they are pretty much considered trash.
Even so, the pick rate for Rogues remained steady because they were fun to play. For example, if you managed to get the Blink Dagger against all odds, you could feel an omnipotent thrill and potentially carry the game alone. If the drop rate for the Blink Dagger was higher, the need for the Rogue Revival Movement wouldn’t even be necessary—but no one wants a teammate who bets the team’s victory on a personal slot machine.
For these various reasons, most KoK users at the beginning of the series considered anyone who picked Rogues to be “selfish casual players.”
22. Were the hastily skipped parts after drinking intentional?
Yes. They were left blank for future side stories. Of course, some content in them won’t be mentioned even in the side stories.
23. Will Lee Yena continue broadcasting or playing KoK after marriage?
Yena plans to keep broadcasting. However, she will stop playing KoK for reasons she cannot disclose.
24. How long will KoK last?
It’s a game with a fairly long lifespan. The CEO has gotten his act together.
25. Does Lee Yena have any plans to have children?
The current Lee Yena in the main story has no thoughts about children by the conclusion. However, she might have thoughts in the future. Whether she has kids is a secret.
But if she does, she’ll name them according to their birth season. If they are expected in March, they’ll be named BomBom (Spring), if in August, Yeoreum (Summer), and so on.
26. Will Lee Yena debut as a professional gamer?
Yena will not debut as a professional gamer. However, there is a possibility that she will join a pro team in some role.
27. Did Lee Yena now think of herself as a woman? Does she like men? Or does she continue to like women?
As of the conclusion, Yena’s gender identity was female. Her sexual orientation remained a secret.
28. Why did Lee Yeri become a lawyer?
It was due to her parents’ expectations. However, she regretted the time she spent away from home for this purpose.
29. What does “안ㅣ에요” mean?
It was a play on words that mimicked the pronunciation of “안이에요” and was a deliberate typo made by Yena. If you type “안ㅣ에요” on a keyboard, it’s not a typical typo you’d make by accident.
30. Did you play Cyphers? What about DualGate?
I played Cyphers very early on. It would be embarrassing to say I really enjoyed it; rather, it was more accurate to say I floundered with others during the chaotic early days.
Though DualGate sadly failed, it was truly a masterpiece. I started it by chance in the very early days and experimented with how far I could go with a 100% win rate using a strategy akin to “4 floating wheels”, similar to the 4 drone strategy in StarCraft. Looking back, it was something I regretted from my younger days as it cut off new players. Fortunately, the nerf patch wasn’t delayed for too long.
31. Did you have any reference broadcasting channels?
I referred to countless G-tube channels. However, I didn’t enjoy watching live streams regularly. While preparing for the publication of the malicious broadcast, I analyzed various channels to avoid misunderstandings about taking inspiration from someone.
I didn’t want to use any real person’s RPS.
Nevertheless, sometimes ideas I had prepared in advance coincidentally overlapped with actual events, causing me to scrap them. Conversely, some of the content I uploaded coincidentally happened in real streams later, prompting me to check the dates hastily.
These were some good memories.
32. Did you have to go to the convenience store?
Hmm… this is a fundamental question. Do you remember the description of the cliché in the first episode of the malicious broadcast? I didn’t want the malicious broadcast to deviate from the clichés of TS content. Among those clichés, there were ones I liked and others I didn’t, but I wanted to include all the well-established content.
I wanted to create something that anyone could enjoy like a simple, comforting snack, not some gourmet dish you’d find in a Michelin-starred restaurant.
33. Have you been writing for a long time?
I’ve been “eating my fill of words”, as they say, for a while. Whether it was through novels, essays, or poems, the genre remains a secret.
However, the malicious broadcast was indeed the first work I serialized on Novelpia.
34. What about your next work? Can you tell us?
My next work is in the planning stages. However, as I mentioned in the afterword, I’m quite busy with other duties and personal schedules at the moment, so it will take some time. Once I have enough chapters, I’ll make an announcement.
Thank you for reading.
