Chapter 9
After Ricardo left, the room was left empty.
Olivia sat on the bed, staring blankly out the window.
“Hmph.”
The sunlight was blazing.
The sand grains were glittering.
It was silent, with no Ricardo to talk to her and no Ricardo to tease her, calling her a pig.
On a day like this, it would be best to sleep, but since Ricardo woke her up, she was now wide awake.
-Chirp, chirp….
“Ah, ah, ah.”
Olivia stretched and leaned against the window.
“I’m bored, I’m hungry.”
Every time Ricardo went out to work, she was left alone in the estate, like a dog guarding the house, watching out the window to see if anyone was coming, and when she got sleepy, she slept.
She could have called a Maid to play with, but she didn’t want to.
It was because they weren’t close, and it was awkward.
Maybe everyone disliked her, and she had a strange delusion that made her not want to talk to anyone when Ricardo was away.
‘Bothersome.’
Anyway, Ricardo was the one who understood her the best, a true Competent Butler who gave her food when she was hungry and gave her exactly what she wanted to eat.
Olivia found Ricardo comfortable to be around.
It was a matter of pride, but the Divine Healer Butler was competent.
A Competent Butler who had served her for 13 years, taking care of her troublesome self, and it would be hard to find another Butler like Ricardo in the entire continent.
She knew herself.
How much trouble she was.
Maybe it was because she was born and raised in a noble family, but she was a strange woman who bit on a rag and spoke worse than an animal, to the point where even the puppy she raised for 10 years liked Ricardo more than her.
Olivia had a good sense of self-awareness, and she thought ‘Damn’ suited her better than ‘Hehe’.
She was far from being pretentious.
Ricardo would package her personality nicely, saying she was a “straightforward person”, but she knew it wasn’t a compliment, and although it was nice to hear, she didn’t tell him to stop.
She had tried to change her personality before.
She bought a Kind Words Dictionary and studied it.
-100 Ways to Change Yourself? Why are you reading such a boring book, Young Lady?
-I was going to put it away.
-That’s a good idea.
She even called a tutor, an Apostle.
-This is the new tutor, Young Lady.
-You look like you have a bad personality.
-What?
-Get out.
She also tried meditation.
-Young Lady?
-Oooooh….
-You’re sleeping well.
But her troublesome personality didn’t change easily.
She wanted to speak kindly to people.
Especially to Ricardo, who took care of her even when she was being annoying and complaining all the time, and it was all because of her mistakes that he had to work.
She had wanted to create a job that would allow her to live a life of leisure, but everything went wrong because of her.
Was it love that was wrong?
Or was it the Academy?
Or was it her?
Where did it all go wrong?
No, it was all her fault.
Maybe it was because she woke up early for the first time in a while, but she had a lot on her mind.
Especially the strange dream she had the other day.
After having a vivid illusion that felt too real, she spent a lot of time reflecting on herself.
If Ricardo wasn’t there, she would have probably died by now, and she spent a lot of time thinking about the past.
“My head hurts.”
Ricardo and she probably wouldn’t be able to live together forever.
Ricardo would have to get married someday.
And she would have to live on her bed forever.
“I’m depressed.”
Thinking about the bleak future made her feel down.
At times like these, she wished Ricardo would open the door with a joke and comfort her, because seeing him smile like a fool and being with him made her feel at ease.
Now, without Ricardo, she couldn’t see her future.
“Benefactor… or something.”
What was the relationship between her and Ricardo, her Divine Healer Butler?
Their relationship as employer and employee was already ruined.
She hoped Ricardo didn’t dislike her.
Olivia sank into thought, gazing out the window.
The Guards were patrolling diligently.
The birds were singing diligently.
The Little Kids were playing diligently.
Everyone was doing their part diligently.
Olivia felt even worse, seeing herself as a useless Divine Healer.
Just then.
A Little Kid with a deep hat and red paint appeared in the distance, looking suspicious as they glanced around.
‘Thief?’
The kid’s movements seemed too suspicious to be just a painter.
Olivia stared at the kid.
Even if there was nothing to steal in the house.
It was still annoying to see someone taking something.
Olivia grasped the bell to call the Maid, watching the Little Kid.
The kid stood by the wall, brush in hand.
Olivia saw the kid and took a deep breath before shouting without filtering her words.
“Hey, you son of a b**ch!!!”
She realized she wasn’t unemployed.
She was diligently guarding the house.
Seeing the Little Kid run away, Olivia felt better.
“Hehehe.”

After walking for about 30 minutes, looking at the address on the card, I arrived at my destination without difficulty.
“Is this the right place?”
I felt good that it was closer than I thought, but I was lost in thought, standing in front of an unexpected place.
“This is strange.”
Clearly, Miss Hanna had said this.
-We have a Small-Scale Knight Order that our household runs, and if you come, you can earn some pocket money.
-What?
-Green Tea, it didn’t taste good. You need money, right?
Her insight, which could grasp the situation of a household with just a cup of green tea, was indeed noble-like, and thanks to that, she recommended a good part-time job.
But it was a Knights’ Order.
On my way here, I imagined a Knight Order, dressed in armor, as usual.
That’s what a normal Knight Order would do.
A Knight Order’s job was to catch Demonic Beasts that appeared in the Divine Healer’s territory or to solve problems requested by external households.
However, this was not a Knights’ Order.
[Adventurers’ Guild ‘Popo’]
“Huh?”
Hanna, who had been contacted in advance, was waving at me.
“Over here.”
Hanna, waving her hand.
Hanna was dressed in a typical adventurer’s outfit, brown leather pants and boots, just as expected.
It was a very annoying sight.
I quickly walked towards her.
And whispered softly, so that others couldn’t hear.
“You said it was a Knights’ Order, didn’t you?”
“Yes, a Knights’ Order.”
Hanna showed me her party, with a flourish.
A small Dwarf.
An Elf with a bow.
But it wasn’t a party with a Healer in a Sister’s outfit, it was just her, alone.
Is this what they call a Knights’ Order?
It seemed like she was perfectly sane, but her head was a mess.
“This is the Knights’ Order I run.”
“Really?”
“Well, I’m the only one, but I’m a Knight, so it’s a Knights’ Order, right?”
Many questions popped into my head, but Hanna didn’t care.
She was pleased that I had arrived so quickly.
She took my hand and led me into the guild.
“You can earn pocket money here, and it’s a good place to hide your identity.”
“Is this an adventurer’s job?”
“Yes.”
Hanna smiled awkwardly.
I felt like I had been scammed.
It seemed like I had been deceived by a Young Child, but I decided to listen to what Hanna had to say.
“I’m a B-Rank adventurer, you know.”
“B-Rank, whatever, it seems like you deceived me.”
Hanna lightly dismissed my opinion.
And got to the point, as if she knew what I was most curious about.
“Do you know how much I earned in a week when I did this job during my break?”
Hanna held up one finger.
“10 Gold?”
My voice rose in surprise.
10 Gold was a lot of money, considering a commoner’s monthly living expenses were around 30 Gold.
But it was a job that came with danger, and safety was a concern.
That’s why I had chosen to work as a laborer instead of an adventurer.
‘You’re amazing for earning money on your own.’
I had thought she was a naive noble, but she seemed to have a good grasp of reality.
My favorability towards her increased.
But I still had to refuse.
It was too dangerous.
I thought of a kind way to refuse, without hurting her feelings.
I told her that I wouldn’t risk getting hurt for just 10 Gold.
Moreover, adventurer work took up a lot of time.
Hanna’s eyes widened.
She waved her hand, looking displeased.
“No way, you’d pass up such a small amount of money?”
“Really?”
“100 Gold.”
I almost called her “noona” (older sister), which would have been strange since she was younger than me.
Regardless of my thoughts, my eyes widened in surprise.
I wanted her to explain in detail.
Hanna smiled slightly, seeing my expression.
“The pay is good if you take on bigger jobs, and since I’m the only one, I don’t have to worry about allocations.”
“But don’t high-ranking adventurers take all the high-paying jobs?”
Hanna showed me her Silver Badge.
“I’m B-Rank.”
“Ah…”
“High-ranking adventurers get priority for difficult jobs, and sometimes we get designated requests.”
Seeing her bright smile, I regretted not knowing about this job earlier.
I thought about my past, working on construction sites, and tears almost welled up in my eyes.
Why didn’t I know about this amazing job?
Hanna smiled apologetically and took my hand.
“I’m sorry, but I didn’t think you’d come if I told you the truth.”
It was true, I would have refused if she had told me it was an adventurer’s job.
I didn’t know much about adventurers, and I would have laughed if a Noble Lady like her said she was doing it alone.
But one thing was strange.
“Why did you quit?”
I had made a bad impression on her earlier.
From the start, I had messed up her face, and she had every reason to take revenge on me.
So I asked her before starting the job.
“The thing that happened at our estate, it wasn’t a good memory for you, was it?”
Maybe she was trying to get revenge on me.
You can’t be too careful with people.
Hanna bowed her head.
“Well, yes.”
Hanna looked at me intently.
“You’re the first Butler I’ve seen use aura like that.”
“Really?”
“I’ve never seen anyone, not even my Father, use aura with such precision.”
It was thanks to my Limit Break skill.
I didn’t say anything.
Hanna smiled slightly and said.
“I’m not just doing this for the money, I want to grow stronger.”
“Really?”
Her words were.
If you want to earn a lot, you have to take on dangerous jobs, but it’s better to work with someone with proven skills like me.
At the same time, she wanted to improve her Devotee skills.
This was the main reason.
Hanna bowed her head politely.
It was a different side of her from what I had seen at the estate.
“So I asked you to join me.”
I looked at her and said.
“Is skill all that matters?”
“Really?”
“Is skill more important than money?”
If the answer was yes, I could give her the answer she wanted.
I asked out of virtuous intention, but a crack appeared on Hanna’s face.
It seemed she was displeased, as if I had neglected her by thinking she was a woman who took money lightly.
I gave a pragmatic answer before she could misunderstand further.
“Let’s do 8:2 then.”
“Yes?”
Hanna’s bewildered response.
“I mean allocation.”
“What’s that…!”
“In exchange, I’ll make sure Miss Hanna can beat Mikhail in 4 weeks.”
I was the one who raised Mikhail and the Sub Male Leads in a way they didn’t know.
