Chapter 57

The Student Council Room of the Academy.

The Student Council Executives sitting around the round table were letting out deep sighs.

The Student Council President, Chartia, was sighing deeply.

Mikhail was present as a reference.

Ruin and Crown Prince were also there, looking annoyed.

The Student Council had gathered to discuss the incident that occurred during the final evaluation.

Chartia was not in a good mood, as there were many things that needed to be done, such as coming up with a plan for the interrupted test and verifying the facts.

-Thud!

“This academy is not functioning properly.”

Chartia was frustrated because they would have to write a letter to the parents after the meeting, telling them not to worry.

Chartia calmed down, taking deep breaths, in order to have a proper meeting.

After taking a few deep breaths, Chartia looked at Mikhail, who had wounds on his face, and his expression was not good, likely still in shock from the Heretics’ raid.

It had been a week since the incident, and Mikhail still seemed to be in a daze.

Seeing Mikhail, who was usually confident and composed, now looking troubled, made Chartia feel uneasy.

“Mikhail, can you tell us what happened? We need to know in order to proceed with the meeting.”

Mikhail nodded slightly.

Mikhail stood up and began to tell the story of what happened that day in front of the Executives.

“It started with the sound of someone’s scream.”

He told the story in detail.

He explained how they ended up going deeper into the dungeon and why they tried to save the person, speaking honestly without hiding anything.

However, when the story reached its climax, Mikhail’s mouth wouldn’t open.

“We were about to die, and then…”

Mikhail couldn’t say anything.

Chartia let out a deep sigh.

Chartia knew why Mikhail couldn’t speak, as it was likely due to his pride, having received help from someone he didn’t like.

Chartia had Mikhail sit down, waving her hand, as his testimony was almost identical to the report.

“It’s okay, you’ve done well. Let’s discuss the rest based on the report.”

Chartia pointed to a part of the report on the table, which contained information about the incident.

The report included Mikhail’s and Yuria’s testimonies.

The last part of the report summarized the testimonies of the Knights who were attacked by the Heretics.

Chartia looked at the part she had pointed to with a meaningful gaze.

Mikhail looked down, not wanting to speak about that part himself.

He could talk about being attacked by the Heretics and Yuria being in danger with his eyes closed, but that particular part was difficult for him to discuss.

Perhaps it was due to shame.

Or maybe it was because he was embarrassed.

Mikhail just kept his head down.

Chartia asked Mikhail, “Ricardo was the one who saved you, right?”

“Yes.”

“Haa…”

Chartia’s face scrunched up in frustration.

Ricardo…

Was he only appearing at times like these?

It was unlikely that Ricardo was involved with the Heretics, and if he was, it would have made more sense for him to kill Mikhail.

Chartia knew that Ricardo wouldn’t get involved with the Heretics, as it would be too much trouble for him.

-Student Council Room, is it your bedroom? Haa… what brings you here this time?

-Assault on a classmate!

-Why don’t you try to calm down and live your life?

-If I hold in my anger, I’ll get sick. I want to live a long and healthy life…

Ricardo was a strange guy who always seemed to be involved in suspicious incidents, but whenever he was involved with “That Guy,” the outcome was always the best it could be.

Like the time the Academy caught on fire.

And when they caught the Heretics disguised as students.

Even the time Yuria was being bullied, Ricardo was involved, and the outcome was positive.

Chartia felt a sense of relief whenever Ricardo’s name appeared in the reports, and this time was no exception.

“Is Ricardo really the one who saved you?”

“Yes.”

Mikhail nodded.

Chartia also let out a deep sigh, rubbing her aching head.

“I’ll send someone to talk to you about Ricardo, so just know that for now.”

Chartia was relieved, thinking that it was fortunate that Ricardo had appeared.

There was one death and thirty injuries.

All of this was thanks to Ricardo’s actions.

If Ricardo hadn’t appeared, the number of deaths would have been much higher.

Chartia let out a sigh as she looked at Mikhail, who was sitting with his head down, and flipped through the report.

‘Mikhail… you’re not fun anymore.’

Mikhail, who always brought excitement with his righteous actions, had become boring.

Perhaps it was because he had met Ricardo, but Chartia’s favorability towards Mikhail had decreased.

Mikhail’s seriousness and stubbornness were annoying.

Chartia had once had a slight crush on Mikhail, who wasn’t afraid of the nobles, but now she didn’t see anything good in him.

Reading the report, which was written honestly, made Chartia feel frustrated with Mikhail’s actions.

If it were “That Guy,” he would have written “I hit him because he was annoying.”

Chartia smiled to herself as she turned the page.

-Page turn.

This page contained information about the Heretic who died in the dungeon.

.

Chartia muttered,

“Crazy bastard.”

The criminal record was filled with theft, kidnapping, and murder, making Chartia unable to say anything good about him.

The fact that such a person was in the same space as the students made Chartia’s heart sink, but at the same time, she was relieved that they had been caught.

Chartia read the report aloud, loud enough for everyone to hear.

As she read the perpetrator’s crimes, the expressions of the Executives sitting at the table changed.

Some looked horrified.

Others looked disgusted.

The Executives showed various reactions, which Chartia noticed.

Mikhail was the most affected, his face turning pale.

He seemed to be having trouble believing what he was hearing.

Chartia tried to comfort Mikhail, but he was lost in thought.

Mikhail thought to himself,

‘A murderer?’

He had heard rumors that the Heretics were evil, but he thought they might have been exaggerated.

He tried to convince himself that they must have had a dark past or been misunderstood, but the facts were too much to handle.

Mikhail thought to himself.

‘Am I the one who’s wrong..?’

***

After all the stories were finished, the Student Council Executives were talking about the incident with tired expressions, sighing.

-It was really close to being a big deal. He was a murderer, wow.

-It’s fortunate, if it weren’t for Senior Mikhail, we would have been dead too.

-That’s right!

Among the students laughing and talking about Mikhail.

-Clang!

Hanna stood up from her seat, slamming the documents on the desk.

Hanna, who had written the meeting minutes, slammed the documents on the desk and glared at the students who were talking about Mikhail.

The female students were taken aback.

Hanna muttered,

“Are your ears clogged?”

Hanna was not in a good mood.

The final agenda was mostly about Mikhail’s accomplishments.

Mikhail saved a student who was in danger.

Although someone else’s help was involved in the process, it was a small help, and Mikhail, along with Yuria and the helper, won the battle, but in the process, they committed an inevitable killing.

The conclusion was this.

Let’s give Mikhail an award.

Mikhail is a hero.

What a joke.

As the secretary who took notes during the meeting, Hanna was annoyed.

Although she didn’t know exactly what happened that day as a third person, one thing was for sure – Butler helped Mikhail.

Hanna had a hunch that the push-over Butler would be used and discarded.

Hanna started to get angry.

It was unfair.

The real hero who solved the problem was someone else, but they were giving the award to an innocent person, which made Hanna angry.

Hanna raised her hand and looked at the Student Council President.

“May I make a suggestion?”

As Chartia, who was tired from the meeting, looked at Hanna, Hanna glared at Mikhail and said what she had been thinking during the meeting.

“I think Ricardo’s contribution was significant in this incident.”

-Clang!

“Shut up and sit down.”

Ruin glared at Hanna and spoke.

Ruin used profanity, saying it was nonsense.

Hanna didn’t flinch, because if Ruin wanted to scare her, he should have had the ability to do so.

Ruin’s threat was not scary, especially since Hanna had beaten him in the Ranking Selection Tournament.

Hanna coldly ignored Ruin, but Ruin, who was angry at being disrespected by his junior, looked at Hanna with a fierce gaze and said.

“The senior is telling you to shut up.”

“You should be the one to shut up, it’s embarrassing.”

“…This damn girl!”

Ruin stood up, about to lose his temper.

Hanna had clenched her fist, but as she met Chartia’s fierce gaze, she unclenched it.

“What’s with the commotion in the sacred meeting room….”

Ruin, who had a lot to say, was taken aback by Chartia’s fierce gaze and stormed out of the meeting room.

Chartia looked at Hanna.

“What do you want to say?”

Hanna said confidently.

“Please allow Ricardo and Olivia to re-enroll.”

Chartia let out a deep sigh and said.

“Dismissed.”
