Knock to death (v1c13)
Once bitten, twice shy.
She was in a wilderness area now. Any slight movement made Ye Sheng panic. She felt like a frightened cat, ready to bristle her fur and leap three meters high.
Zhou Lin had always warned her about the dangers of the wilderness.
Ye Sheng had never experienced them personally, so she didn't think much of it.
But now she totally agreed!
She was still wandering in the wilderness near the mitigation zone. If she went further, she might encounter some monsters and ghosts!
Or maybe she had disturbed the nest of polluted creatures?
How very 'lucky'!
Ye Sheng cursed in her heart, but her body was tense, not daring to make any rash moves to provoke the other party. She stared at the dark figure swaying in front of her with a serious expression, eager to know what it was this time.
After more than ten seconds, the dark shadow shaking in the grass by the river finally emerged!
It was...
A Crayfish!
A giant blue-shelled crayfish the size of a basketball.
Seeing this, Ye Sheng's heart sank, and her whole body relaxed.
Thankfully, it was just a crayfish, so there was not much danger.
Unlike the polluted creatures on land, most of the polluted creatures in the water would lose 80% of their combat effectiveness once they landed ashore, and the remaining 20% was not worth mentioning.
That was why Ye Sheng felt relieved.
She couldn't be killed by a crayfish on land!
But if it had been a crab, she would have run away quickly.
The crabs in the wasteland world were very vicious!
They were one of the very few polluted creatures in the water that would not lose their fighting power on the shore.
And this blue-shell crayfish was not as fast as a crab, but the pair of large pincers on its forelimbs were very cruel...if it had been in the water, the crayfish might have used its pincers to tear off a large piece of flesh, or even break the bones.
But on land...
It was like a turtle in a trap, nothing to be afraid of!
Besides, crayfish and the like were delicious.
Ye Sheng couldn't help but stick out the tip of her tongue and lick her lips. Her eyes were fixed on the crawling crayfish. She was really greedy. The little hoe in her hand was already itching to move!
(✪ω✪)
Seafood delivered to her door!
Although Ye Sheng could fill her stomach after eating rat meat, who could refuse the more delicious meat?
But could living polluted organisms be tested to determine whether they were edible?
Watching the blue-shelled crayfish crawling and moving slowly, she was just waiting for it to get farther away from the river before taking action, so as not to let it run back into the water. So, while Ye Sheng was waiting, she curiously picked up the detector and pointed it at the crayfish. Scan.
'Beep~Blue shelled crayfish detected'
Apparently Ye Sheng was overthinking.
When the detection machine scanned for living polluted organisms, it only prompted the name and did not show how high the radiation level in the polluted organisms was. It seemed that it could only be detected after they were dead.
Besides, if it could be easily detected, the people in the mercenary group would have made a fortune.
One was bound to be caught.
Giving up on taking shortcuts, Ye Sheng crouched in the grass, ready to take action at any time.
When the Blue Shelled Crayfish was finally far away from the river, just as she was about to get up, she caught sight of movement by the river out of the corner of her eye, causing her to squat down again.
She saw ripples appearing in the originally quiet river, and then several identical blue-shell crayfish crawled out of it, heading towards Ye Sheng's direction with the same goal.
Oh ho!
More meat delivered to her door.
Ye Sheng had been observing for a while and had figured out the reason why these crayfish had suddenly appeared!
It was all because of the porcupine rat guts that she had despised.
The first crayfish that had appeared had aimed at the pile of internal organs.
When it had passed by the discarded rat head, the blue shelled crayfish hadn't even looked at it, and had gone straight to the internal organs. It had raised its pair of large pincers in the air and then lowered them. It had roughly grabbed the uppermost intestine and had shaken it with a crackling sound.
Although crayfish couldn't run as fast as crabs, the power of the pincers on their forelimbs couldn't be underestimated.
On the way to throw away the internal organs, Ye Sheng had used a branch to pick up the intestines, and had thus discovered that polluted creatures were different from ordinary animals!
Not only were their bones larger and heavier, but their intestines were also very tough.
However, the tough intestines were no match for the crayfish's claws, and they were cut off with just a quick grab.
Then a bunch of liquid had flowed out from the intestines. Ye Sheng had frowned in disgust, thinking that this crayfish was too uncouth!
If the crayfish was allowed to play with its internal organs, the scene would probably become even more disgusting.
Ye Sheng had looked at the few blue shelled crayfish that had come ashore behind it. They were still diligently crawling towards the porcupine rat's guts, but they were farther away from the river. Ye Sheng hadn't continued squatting, but had rushed towards them with a small hoe.
While the blue shelled crayfish was playing with a pile of internal organs, Ye Sheng had picked up the hoe and had given the crayfish a hard blow on the head.
Even if the polluted creatures had mutated and evolved, except for some special ones, most of them were still fatal to the head and heart.
However, because the small hoe in Ye Sheng's hand wasn't a weapon, it wasn't satisfactory for attacking.
One blow hadn't completely killed the blue shelled crayfish.
Fortunately, these crayfish were like entering a slowdown zone on land. When they couldn't keep up, Ye Sheng had easily smashed the head of a polluted creature with a few more blows.
When the blue shelled crayfish was completely dead and motionless, Ye Sheng couldn't relax immediately.
Because the other crayfish were coming soon.
Following the example of the gourd, Ye Sheng had continued to use a small hoe to knock the crayfish to death one by one. When the force was so great that her arms were sore, she had knocked all the blue shelled crayfish that had climbed ashore to death.
It was finally time to rest!
Ye Sheng had sat down on the ground without any image, and had raised her eyes to look at the crayfish that she had knocked to death, and she couldn't help but smile with joy.
This was the joy of harvest!
While taking advantage of the break, Ye Sheng had picked up the detector and had scanned the dead crayfish.
'Beep, high radiation blue shelled crayfish detected, highly toxic and inedible'
'Beep, high radiation blue shelled crayfish detected, highly toxic and inedible'
'Beep, high radiation blue shelled crayfish detected, highly toxic and inedible'
Ye Sheng had gone numb.
She had worked hard to knock these crayfish to death, but none of them could be eaten!
Half a day's work was wasted!

She had thought she was favored by God today, but now it seemed she wasn't so lucky.
Because there was no harvest, Ye Sheng's heart had burned with anger, and she hadn't continued to rest. Instead, she had picked up the crayfish corpses with a small hoe and had thrown these high-radiation corpses into the river.
It would be bad if these crayfish carcasses attracted other polluted organisms.
In addition to crayfish, she had also thrown the porcupine rat's internal organs into the river.
She had a disgusted look on her face as she used a branch to pick up the internal organs. Luckily, she had killed the first crayfish early and it hadn't messed with the internal organs too much, but the intestines were still cut into sections by its pincers.
It was really gross.
Ye Sheng was left to clean up the mess irritably. She wasn't paying attention when a branch pierced into another internal organ. She quickly pulled out the branch and made a hole in the organ.
As she pulled out the branch, the contents inside spilled out.
Among the pile of bloody things, there was a bright severed finger.
It was the stomach pouch of a spiny rat.
Ye Sheng felt a wave of nausea and wanted to vomit, but then she said "Eh", and used a branch to poke the pile of things a few times. She soon saw a pure black stone hidden in it.
This...this couldn't be an energy stone, could it?
