Felyn suddenly found the sunlight blinding.
The sun now hung high in the sky, dazzlingly bright.
Adelina was like a statue of a goddess—aside from getting up to drink water or use the restroom, she had sat at the desk all night, writing nonstop from midnight until noon.
Looking at the thick stack of neatly bound application documents, Felyn only had one thought:
Adelina, you're absolutely incredible.
Was she even human? At this speed, she could probably finish all her winter and summer homework in a single night.
Though she hadn't slept at all, Adelina, even with a trace of fatigue on her face, still looked stunning from the side.
Felyn had been staring at that flawless face nearly all day.
Books can’t compare to a beautiful girl.
He no longer knew whether to say Adelina looked like a goddess—or if the goddesses should be modeled after her.
“Finally… it’s done…”
Adelina took one last look at the report, then let out a long sigh of relief. She placed the bound budget documents carefully into her bag.
With Felyn by her side, the exhaustion never quite settled in. She powered through it all in one go.
Rubbing her eyes, Adelina turned to look at Felyn, who had nearly slumped into a fossil on the couch.
“Felyn, I’ll go make you some tea.”
Felyn forced himself up. He had always been running on a sleep deficit, and now that he had stayed up until noon, his body was at its limit.
He missed the days of his youth, when he could pull all-nighters in internet cafés without breaking a sweat.
“Felyn, how about… we get a bit of sleep first?” Adelina asked, rushing over to support him.
Seeing him stay up all night just for her, her heart ached.
They didn’t have to submit the report until sunset anyway. Most Commercial Association staff were probably still eating or resting. Going now wouldn’t make any difference.
“Are you sure this won’t mess up your schedule, Adelina?”
“It’s fine. There’s still plenty of time. Two hours of sleep won’t change anything.”
Even someone as strong as Adelina had reached her limit under such intense work and long-term stress.
Felyn didn’t argue further. Honestly, he was worried he might just drop dead.
He lay down on the couch, closed his eyes, and instantly fell asleep.
Watching him like that, Adelina walked over and gently stroked his cheek.
She didn’t go to the bed to sleep. Instead, she sat on the rug and leaned against him, resting her head on his chest, listening to his breathing, and feeling the gentle rise and fall of his chest.
The sunlight quieted. The curtain fluttered in the breeze, casting soft ripples across the room.
At that moment, it was as if the room had detached itself from the world—leaving only a beautiful boy and girl in peaceful slumber.
Until a knock on the door broke the stillness, and the room returned to reality.
“Lady Adelina, it’s time to leave,” the maid reminded from outside.
“Mm? Oh—okay, coming.”
Still dazed, Adelina rose on instinct. The imprint of Felyn’s shirt was still visible on her cheek.
She wobbled slightly, struggling to stay upright. Slowly, she made her way to the wardrobe to change clothes.
Meanwhile, Felyn stirred, noticing the warm softness on his chest had vanished. He groggily sat up on the couch, his body limp.
They were both thoroughly sleep-drunk.
With squinted eyes, Felyn watched as Adelina, half-asleep herself, walked to the wardrobe.
She loosened her belt and slid off the little black dress she’d worn the night before.
The dress slipped to the floor, revealing her stunning figure to Felyn's barely-functioning eyes.
He sat there in a daze, eyes fixed on her movements, mind blank—aside from the singular thought: She’s beautiful.
She wore a deep navy lace lingerie set.
With her back turned, Adelina reached behind herself and unhooked the clasp of her bra, revealing her smooth, pale, unblemished back.
From Felyn’s angle, all he could see was the noble young lady—long rosy-brown hair flowing down her back, wearing only her underwear—as she calmly changed clothes.
His mind was still rebooting, and his body hadn’t reacted at all.
Adelina seemed just as spaced out. She had completely forgotten that Felyn was still in the room.
She slowly pulled a padded bra and a long dress from the wardrobe and put them on. Then she took out a pair of black stockings, stepped on the bed, and pulled them up to her thighs.
When she finally turned around, she saw Felyn.
“Felyn, you’re awake? I’m heading to the Commercial Association. You can sleep a bit more.”
She still hadn’t realized anything was wrong. She casually picked up her clothes from the floor and began hanging them back in the closet.
As she prepared to leave, she locked eyes with Felyn, who was still sprawled on the couch in a daze.
Silence fell over the room once more.
Felyn looked at her. His gray-blue eyes, once unfocused, slowly widened.
Adelina, too, finally came to her senses—but not in a good way.
What came rushing in wasn’t clarity—it was shame, panic, regret, and helplessness.
“Felyn! You saw, didn’t you?!”
Adelina screamed. Her sanity finally reconnected the dots.
She forgot he was still in the room.
And she’d just stripped completely!
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!”
She collapsed into a crouch on the floor, hugging her knees as tears welled up in her eyes.
It wasn’t that she was angry Felyn saw her body—just deeply, unbearably ashamed.
She had been raised with the etiquette of a noble lady, someone who once imagined waiting until marriage before doing anything intimate with her husband.
And now, Felyn had seen her—all of her.
Felyn stared at her, curled on the floor, vulnerable and pitiful, her eyes misty and cheeks flushed red. The raw shame and disbelief pouring from her were almost too much to take.
His brain finally came online again.
Now, the image of Adelina—wearing nothing but her underwear—began to vividly play in his mind.
From her smooth legs to her full hips, from that perfect waistline to her proud curves...
Wait... Did I just see all of Adelina?!
I saw all of Adelina!
Felyn jumped up in panic, horrified at himself.
“Ad-Adelina, I swear I was asleep! I didn’t see you undressed!”
At the words "undressed," Adelina’s body trembled.
She looked up, eyes glistening with tears, lips trembling.
“Then how did you know I was undressed at that time?”
Crap.
In his rush to deny it, he accidentally confessed.
Felyn hadn't expected to lose control like this.
“Ad-Adelina! I’ll go with you to the Commercial Association! Haha… I-I can help carry your bag or something!”
He tried to change the subject.
But Adelina didn’t fall for it.
“Felyn… you really did see… didn’t you…” she whispered, biting her lip, her voice hesitant and weak.
I’m doomed. She’s going to silence me.
It was an accident, I swear, Lady Adelina! Please have mercy!
“Ad-Adelina! You have a stunning figure! I swear I only looked at you like a work of art! It was purely professional! Like appreciating a human model! Nothing else! It felt like you were blessed by the gods, like you were a living goddess—like a goddess, I swear—”
“Okay, stop talking already!”
Adelina leapt to her feet and clamped a hand over his mouth.
Her eyes were squeezed shut, and her face was burning—from her heels to her ears.
The elegance of her noble upbringing was nowhere to be found.
All that remained was a girl, so overwhelmed with embarrassment that she looked ready to burst into flames.
