After all the chaos yesterday, today passed quietly without incident, “Hello, please select a mailing date.”
At the post office, Felyn stood at the counter filling out information.
Right after school, he had rushed over.
Even though this world clearly had Transfer Spell Seal Devices that could teleport letters and items, Felyn still chose the traditional mailing method.
It wasn’t because he thought it was more romantic.
It was because transfer spells were expensive, 200 crowns per use.
Regular postage only cost 20.
“Thank you for your help.”
Felyn finished filling out the form and mailed five separate envelopes containing Zervanie’s autographs to the princess.
If he had sent all 49 of them at once, the princess might’ve thought he had locked Zervanie in a dark basement and forced her to sign nonstop.
When he came out of the post office, the sky had already begun to darken.
Felyn bought a popsicle and sat down on a bench.
This would probably be the last one of the year—just a few more weeks, and the temperature would drop significantly.
As the final rays of the setting sun bathed Felyn in light, he finally felt relaxed.
He rarely had time to himself, so even just sitting on a bench eating a 2-crown popsicle was a luxury and a small joy for him.
Miss Daiyi wanted him to go to the Royal Capital, and it looked like he had no choice.
After all, her father had arrived.
Daiyi was friends with the princess and had a guard like Bernice.
Just who was her father?
Felyn couldn’t even guess. Such a person was beyond his imagination.
Their departure was set for next week.
Unfortunately, he and Adeline would be leaving at the same time.
He still wasn’t sure how that easily provoked young lady would treat him now.
Felyn finished the last bite, threw the stick into the trash can, and headed toward the hospital.
He would be in the Royal Capital for a while.
That meant… he needed to visit his sister.
Felyn got on a vehicle and sat by the window, watching the crowded streets of Seiwa as they embraced the oncoming starlight.
The Spell Seal Devices lit up one by one, illuminating the whole city.
Huge billboards of Zervanie hung from the buildings by the roadside.
Fans wearing cloaks with Zervanie’s emblem were distributing flyers in an orderly manner, promoting her upcoming concert in the Royal Capital next week.
Other passengers inside the vehicle leaned over to the window when they saw the billboard, pointing and chatting about it.
“Zervanie sure is popular,” Felyn murmured as he looked at the scene.
Zervanie, you’ve got to keep it up! Get even more famous!
That way I can sell your autographs for even more money!
When the vehicle reached its final stop, Felyn had to transfer lines three more times.
He finally arrived at the hospital.
Since he wouldn’t be back for a while, it was only natural he should visit Olivia.
As usual, he walked ten minutes to the flower shop a few blocks from the hospital and bought a fresh bouquet.
Because of the flowers, he didn’t use the usual west gate this time.
Instead, he entered from the east, passing through a building he normally never visited.
This world’s medicine was advanced.
Thanks to the Truth Divine Church’s invention of Healing Spell Seal Devices, most illnesses could be treated.
Every time Felyn saw the Spell Seal Devices inside the hospital, he couldn’t help but marvel.
The Truth Divine Church was amazing.
If only he could join them, then he could get free seals every month.
But not just anyone could join.
If you had a referral from a member, it’d be much easier.
Felyn didn’t think he knew anyone like that.
“Excuse me! Move, please!”
A few nurses pushing carts rushed past him, clearly responding to an emergency.
“Miss with the pink hair, please step aside.”
The pink figure near the corner stepped back.
And that’s when Felyn saw who it was.
At the same time, her amber eyes locked onto him.
“Viloti? You’re at the hospital too?”
Viloti wore a gray baseball cap today, her pink hair flowing down her back.
A light gray sweater paired with a navy blue jacket, dark gray shorts, and matching over-the-knee socks.
In the hospital, Viloti looked different.
The dark colors and hat made her seem like she didn’t want to draw attention.
She took two steps back and hid the report in her hands behind her back.
Her amber eyes stared nervously at her black leather shoes.
Felyn saw her expression and, for some reason, thought of a TV drama heroine—one of those pure girls who found out she was pregnant but didn’t want the guy to know.
But all I did was touch her feet yesterday!
“Good evening, Felyn.”
Viloti eventually walked over, visibly uneasy.
She didn’t want to say why she was at the hospital.
But if she said nothing, what if Felyn thought she had some weird disease?
“I came for psychological treatment. I have to come once every two months now.”
She began explaining.
“How’s your recovery going?”
That trauma had kept Viloti in isolation for a long time. Back then, she was terrified of strangers.
“The doctor says I’m doing well. As long as there’s no major shock, it shouldn’t relapse.”
Viloti handed him the report as proof that she was mentally fine.
“Well, that’s great news. Congrats, Viloti.”
Even though Healing Spell Seal Devices were advanced, they still couldn’t treat psychological conditions.
“I’m surprised you actually come to the hospital for this kind of checkup. I thought someone like Lord Silafiel would just have doctors come to your house.”
“My father says we should respect doctors, so I come here.”
Viloti’s gaze fell on the bouquet in Felyn’s hand, a little curious.
“Felyn, are you here because…”
“My sister. She’s still in the hospital receiving treatment.”
“Your sister?”
Viloti blinked.
She had no idea Felyn even had a sister.
“Is it serious?”
“She was contaminated. She’s been bedridden for years, but she’s about to wake up.”
Contaminated…
Viloti understood the meaning of that word, and what it meant for Felyn.
It meant paying huge treatment fees every month.
“C-Can I come with you?”
Viloti clutched her collar and looked up at him.
“Eh? You want to come too?”
“Yes… My father used to have ties with the Sorester family. I want to visit her—as thanks for how the Sorester helped me in the past.”
Viloti lied again. Ever since being with Felyn, she lied all the time.
She didn’t know anyone from the Sorester family.
No one had ever helped her from that household.
She just… wanted to meet Felyn’s family.
She wanted to understand his life, his world.
Hospital – Contaminated Treatment Ward
Olivia lay in bed, listening to the steady beeping of the treatment device, counting the seconds tick by.
She was waiting for Felyn to come visit her.
It was the only thing that kept her going through years of darkness.
She couldn’t move. Couldn’t see. Couldn’t speak.
All she could do was dream.
In her dreams, she and her big brother lived carefree days in a lakeside cottage.
Of course, the bed had to be sturdy.
Oh, and not just the bed—the dining table, chairs, sofa, stairs… anything with a good angle needs to be sturdy.
Wouldn’t want to ruin her dear big brother’s mood.
The sound of the sliding door—at last!
Footsteps followed.
It was her big brother’s footsteps!
And another set. Probably a nurse.
[My dear big brother!]
[Olivia missed you so much. You finally came.]
[Big brother, today… don’t hold back anymore. Olivia’s body is ready for you—]
Before her inner cry could finish, her brother’s voice cut through.
“Viloti, this is my sister, Olivia.”
[Viloti?!]
[Who?!]
