St. Andros Academy’s Magic Seal Training Grounds.
Adeline stood behind a tree, having completely lost track of time.
The gears of fate spun endlessly, making her repeat the very scene where Viloti once stood, secretly watching Felyn from behind a tree.
The training class allowed students to freely choose their partners. Naturally, standing beside Felyn was Viloti.
Today was the first time ever that Adeline had skipped class.
She had been following Felyn nonstop. Even during his classes, she stood atop the school building watching him from above.
Because Adeline was flustered.
She was truly a bit afraid.
Afraid that her feelings for Felyn had been something she’d imagined all along, But she didn’t have the courage to ask him directly.
Trapped in this emotional tug-of-war, Adeline could only calm herself by keeping Felyn within her line of sight.
But in the end, this kind of spying didn’t bring her any peace of mind.
Because she saw that every time class ended, that annoying pink-haired girl would always appear at Felyn’s side on time, even though their classrooms were far apart.
What was even scarier was that the classmates around them seemed completely used to it.
Had they already been like this for a long time?
But this could still be explained as Viloti actively pursuing Felyn.
Still, after following the two of them all the way to the training grounds, Adeline felt her heart growing colder and colder.
Even though Felyn hadn’t done anything overtly affectionate toward Viloti, the fact that he didn’t reject her at all was already strange.
Felyn knew Adeline was openly hostile toward Viloti.
If he really liked her, then why would he still stay with Viloti?
Standing beside Adeline under the tree—also “punished” to stand—was Linda, whom she had dragged along.
Linda looked at Adeline, then glanced at Viloti with complete confusion.
This is—
What is even happening here.
There wasn’t any bad blood between House Silafiel and House Claude, right?
Weren’t the two families recently on very good terms?
Weren’t they about to become sworn brothers before the king?
Then why did Adeline’s expression look so terrifying?
“Adeline, how about we go sit over there for a bit?”
Adeline didn’t move. Her gaze remained fixed on Felyn.
“Adeline… do you have some kind of conflict with Viloti?”
Still no response.
“Don’t tell me… is it about Felyn?”
At the sound of Felyn’s name, Adeline’s brows suddenly furrowed.
Oh no!
It is about Felyn!
Seeing how much Adeline reacted to hearing Felyn’s name, Linda suddenly had a bad feeling!
She quickly looked over at Felyn and Viloti—
As long as they even got a little closer to each other, Adeline’s face would grow darker.
This is some kind of love triangle.
Linda suddenly remembered that Professor Sophia once told her: Adeline seemed to like Viloti.
But wasn’t Viloti supposed to be with Felyn?
Could it be that she’s actually jealous of Felyn?
“Adeline… ahem… don’t take it so hard. Viloti is indeed very excellent, but she’s not the only one in the world. There are many other amazing girls out there too.”
“Other girls?”
Adeline finally shifted her gaze onto Linda.
“There are other amazing girls around Felyn?!”
Seeing the normally gentle and composed Adeline now looking so furious, Linda instinctively answered, “Uh… there’s also Bernice, I guess. At the academy, it’s pretty much just those two.”
“Bernice?”
That name sounded very familiar, but Adeline couldn’t quite recall who she was.
Viloti, Zervanie, Bernice.
If what Linda said was true, then there were quite a few girls around Felyn.
No matter how pure, naïve, or trusting Adeline was toward Felyn, after hearing that he had so many girls around him, after seeing him and Viloti together with her own eyes, she was finally forced to face a terrifying possibility:
Felyn… might really not love me.
If he loved me, he would never be spending time alone with Viloti.
“Adeline… it looks like Viloti and Felyn are practically a thing already. Why don’t you consider someone else? With your status and looks, even pursuing Miss Zervanie wouldn’t be out of the question, right?”
Linda’s well-intentioned advice just so happened to land on two emotional landmines.
She mentioned that Viloti and Felyn were almost a couple.
And she brought up Zervanie’s name.
Adeline’s strength completely gave out, and she slumped against the tree.
“Viloti and Felyn are almost a couple? Who said that?!”
“Huh? You didn’t know? The whole academy knows. They’re always clinging to each other. Sure, no one’s caught them doing anything intimate, but who knows what they’ve been up to in private?”
“What do you mean ‘been up to’…?”
“Well, you know… the kind of stuff a guy and girl would do.”
“No… No, that’s impossible. My Felyn would never do something like that with Viloti…”
Adeline didn’t believe it.
She refused to believe that Felyn would be with her enemy, Viloti—let alone do that kind of thing.
But she wasn’t the only one in disbelief. Linda was, too.
She started questioning her own ears.
Did she just say…
My Felyn?
Did Adeline really say my Felyn?!
Adeline likes Felyn?!
Linda was even more shocked than Adeline herself.
She collapsed straight to the ground.
Wait wait wait wait wait wait—
She had always thought Adeline liked Viloti. But now it turns out it was Felyn?!
Adeline and Felyn—how?!
They weren’t even supposed to have any kind of connection!
Sitting on the ground, Linda stared toward Felyn in the distance, a chill creeping down her back.
One was the untouchable flower of the Silafiel Family.
The other was the perfect young lady of the Claude Family.
And both of them liked Felyn?
Could it be—
Could it be that Felyn really had some kind of hypnotic magic, just like the rumors said?
In a daze, Linda saw Adeline storm past her.
Her rose-tea-colored hair whipped through the air like a furious flame, steadily closing the distance toward Felyn.
“Hey—Adeline! What are you doing?!”
Adeline ignored Linda behind her.
Of course she was going to confront Felyn and ask him for answers!
...
“Felyn, are you feeling tired?”
Felyn lay on the grass, eyes half-closed. Viloti knelt beside him, the soft scent of a young girl surrounding him.
Viloti shifted her position slightly, using her body to block out the sun for Felyn, hoping to make him feel more comfortable.
Blue sky. White clouds. A girl.
It felt like all the most beautiful things in the world had gathered together.
“Felyn.”
But sometimes, too many beautiful things can be a problem—
Like having two girls show up at once.
Felyn suddenly heard a voice that shouldn’t be here, and he felt a jolt of shock in his chest.
He must be dreaming.
There’s no way Adeline would be here.
“Felyn’s asleep, Adeline. Please don’t disturb him.”
Looks like… it wasn’t a dream.
Felyn opened his eyes and saw Adeline’s flawless, elegant face right in front of him.
Only—she no longer wore her usual gentle expression.
