Viloti saw the charm she had just bought tied to Felyn's wrist, and her steps suddenly became much lighter.
[Oath of Star and Moon] With the protection of the stars, the moon can appear perfectly before everyone.
Viloti gave the moon bracelet, which symbolized the one being protected, to Felyn. And on her own wrist, she wore a golden star bracelet.
It was thanks to Felyn's help that Viloti could step out from her psychological shadow and achieve what she has today.
She snuck a glance at Felyn's side profile and gently stroked the bracelet on her wrist.
You protected me in the past. Now, I want to protect you well too. Just like how you did before. Even if you never respond to me, I won't give up.
Not long after leaving the shop, Felyn and Viloti saw the signboard of the "Karine the Witch" shop.
"Welcome, both of you, please come in."
The dessert shop wasn’t big, but due to being by-reservation only, it wasn’t crowded either. The main interior colors were pink, accented with creamy white.
A girl in a blue and white maid uniform approached them. Under her short green hair were long pointed ears.
"I’m Mirian, your server for today. May I see your reservation tickets?"
Felyn handed over the tickets while staring at Mirian’s ears.
"This shop run by elves? Then why call it a witch shop?"
Felyn had a bad feeling. In this world, elves were hardly the symbol of loyalty.
They were romantic, but had a different definition of love. They craved freedom in love.
To put it plainly: all they thought about was about being naughty, they play fast and loose.
"Seeing such a well-matched couple really lifts my spirits," Mirian said as her bright blue eyes danced between Felyn and Viloti.
Hearing that, Viloti shyly looked at Felyn and gripped her bag strap tightly.
Mirian noticed and revealed a sly smile that made Felyn very uneasy.
"This elf lady… she’s not going to do anything weird, right?"
Felyn knew exactly what their current relationship looked like from an outsider's point of view: a young couple in the early stages of love. And elves couldn’t resist meddling in those.
"With both tickets together, you can enjoy our premium couple's service. Please follow me."
"Premium couple's service?"
"Yes, didn’t you know? Combining both tickets unlocks our special service."
The store did have that policy.
Of course, Zervanie normally didn’t have time to know any of this. Good thing she didn’t, or she'd probably be furious.
They were led by the elf girl to the back garden, where Felyn discovered a bunch of mini couple rooms.
It's a dessert shop, for crying out loud! Why does the side hustle?!
The tiny private room was cramped. Pink wallpaper and plush pillows created an atmosphere dripping with something going on.
As time passed, the scent of Viloti’s Fragrance grew thicker in the air. Felyn found it harder and harder to breathe.
"Do you have any preferences? Like flavors, allergies, textures, or... positions?"
"Did you just say something weird?"
"You must have misheard. I said cheese."
Felyn eyed the elf suspiciously.
But Viloti didn’t seem to catch on. She was focused on the menu.
The desserts arrived quickly. A lavender mousse that looked like frozen twilight, topped with silver frosting.
"No wonder I couldn’t book this for half a year. Looks incredible."
"This is our limited edition Karin’s Secret Cake. Enjoy."
Felyn winced at the word "secret."
"Ahem... was this also made by elves?"
"Of course! Please try it."
"Let me just ask, there's nothing weird in it, right?"
"Absolutely not. I swear on the Elven Gods."
Felyn skeptically took a spoonful.
It tasted amazing. Cool and refreshing, as if it went straight to his brain.
There were no you-feed-me-I-feed-you moments. Just peaceful, quiet eating with the occasional clink of spoons against dishes.
Some might call that boring, but to Felyn, this was the most comfortable way to be with Viloti.
Come to think of it, they had never actually gone on a date before.
Of course. All their interactions had been during the contract period. He was just her lapdog.
Going on a date with a goddess? That’s not a lapdog anymore.
"Is everything to your liking?"
The elf girl Mirian returned, her sly grin deepening Felyn's suspicion.
"Tastes great."
"That’s wonderful. Oh, I almost forgot to mention something."
Mirian leaned against the door frame and gestured with her fingers.
"You two are our 1000th customers today. So I asked the chef to add a little something special."
"What? What did you add?!"
"Hard to say without getting flagged. But don’t worry, we’ll have a car take you both home later. Just in case you’re... not in walking condition."
Not in walking condition?!
"Did you spike it?!"
"Didn’t you swear?!"
"There’s no such thing as Elven Gods. We worship the Four Spirits of the Grove."
Damn it! I fell for it!
"Better wait thirty minutes before heading out. It might get... awkward."
She closed the door, leaving a panicking Felyn and a clueless Viloti.
"Felyn, what did she mean by that?"
He couldn’t explain.
Ten minutes later—
"Viloti, are you okay?"
"Felyn, I... I'm feeling kind of hot."
"Me too..."
Viloti’s cheeks were crimson. She tugged at her collar and used her fingers to fan the heat from her chest.
Now she understood what the elf meant.
The room's temperature kept rising.
Sweat traced down her pale neck, glimmering in the light. Felyn could almost feel the texture of her skin just by looking.
"Felyn, I..."
Her pink hair clung to her damp nape. Warm breath escaped her parted lips.
They inched closer. Her scent overwhelmed Felyn’s senses. Holding himself back was using up all his strength.
He leaned against the couch to steady himself, but his hand brushed against Viloti’s.
Feeling his touch, she trembled.
"Felyn, I... I can't take it anymore..."
"Me neither..."
So hot. Really... it's really hot.
