Chapter 99: Fed Up [side Mishima Satsuki]
News of my breakup talk with Masaki is spreading all over our year.
After school, it's no wonder, since we made such a scene in the hallway and stood out like that.
I never expected him to cling so desperately...
At first,

If people were going to talk bad about me, it would've been better to just get it over with all at once.
Now if we break up, they'll say even worse things.
Even if I ignore them, that malice chills my heart.
That's why, if Masaki just went around saying he was in the wrong and took all the blame for the breakup, at least I'd be protected... but right now, all Masaki does is drag me down.
...Maybe I should just make up some story about abuse and use that as my excuse...

Nagase: "...President...? Please don't call me by my name?"
Ichinose: "...Sorry, Secretary Nagase."
I see Nagase Aya with a sullen look, walking alongside the slightly flustered new student council president, Ichinose-senpai.

The students are all,
"They really suit each other."
"The president has that noble prince vibe, and Nagase-san looks way more calm and different when she's next to him!"
"They went to the same middle school, right? They always deny it, but if those two dated, they'd totally be the school's new big couple!"
It annoys me how my classmates, who look at me with cold eyes, are so nice and admiring toward Nagase and the president.
(The new student council president... He's supposed to be upright, gets great grades, and his family's loaded, but... what if I stole Ichinose-senpai away? Could I finally make Nagase Aya eat her heart out?)

(Basically the same mindset as Kousuke targeting Satsuki just to spite Nagase.)
Too bad I don't even know Ichinose-senpai, and I have no connections to him... so maybe that fake abuse idea...?

It's Osada from the class next door.
Every single day, without getting bored, she comes to my class.
She always stops to say a few words to Akino and Kageno, the top girls, before coming over to me.
I lost a bet, so for my whole first year I have to talk to Osada in polite language.
...Osada comes every day, but? I just think about things and completely ignore her without saying a word.
I think, I'm on fire! but the class just reacts coldly.
People say I'm not being a good sport, I'm a coward, I'm sneaky, and Osada is so nice. I hear comments like that.
I ignore all of that too...
Osada: "Mishima-san? Once April comes and the new school year starts, you don't have to use polite language anymore, okay?"

Osada leans in with an obviously worried look,
Osada: "I'm worried about you. Are you okay?"

I ask with my eyes, but don't open my mouth.
Osada: "If Mishima-san repeats a year? You'll be a first-year again, right? So you'll have to use polite language with everyone who's a second-year, not just me?"
Boom!!!!!!
The whole class bursts out laughing...
Instead of feeling frustrated, I just get angry...
Should I steal her boyfriend?
Oh! Apparently she's crazy about her boyfriend (so old-fashioned), right?
If I took her boyfriend, wouldn't she just be crushed?

The sports department is just full of idiots anyway!
