Chapter 80: All Proceeds from This Livestream Will Go to Charity
Sensing his newly acquired ability, Lu Zheng felt a little conflicted.
A question mark appeared on his pixel screen.
“What’s wrong? Bad draw?”
Seeing the question mark, Yi Ning perked up again with excitement.
Could it be… did she just win?
Her tiny fists clenched before her chest, her face gleaming with hope.
“Not quite.”
Lu Zheng shook his head.
He always drew with a guarantee.
No matter how bizarre the ability, it would always be useful to the designated target.
The difference lay in the degree of helpfulness.
This time...
His pixel screen showed a tangled ball of string.
He didn’t even know how to describe it.
“You should just see for yourself.”
Lu Zheng pushed himself up at the edge of the hot spring and slowly stood up from the water.
What are you making me look at?!
Yi Ning instinctively covered her eyes with both hands.
But the fingers covering her face were spread wide enough to clearly see her peeking eyes.
Although it had been mentioned before, it was worth reiterating—
Lu Zheng had an undeniably impressive physique.
Even Yi Ning, his sworn nemesis, who could find fault with him in just about every way imaginable, had to reluctantly agree.
Even with most of his body submerged in water, the exposed portions already revealed a remarkable beauty.
Now, as Lu Zheng fully emerged from the hot spring, his sculpted form was put completely on display.
His arms were lined with fluid muscle contours, his chest firm and broad, beneath which were eight sharply defined abs. Further down, his enviable Adonis belt traced toward his waist.
Like a sculpture carved by the hands of ancient Greek masters, he exuded an undeniable artistic allure.
This bastard must’ve cheated with his ability!
Yi Ning pouted bitterly, quietly defaming Lu Zheng in every ridiculous way she could think of.
She never got results despite trying. Why did Lu Zheng get to look like that?
Just because she trained inconsistently?
Totally unfair.
As Lu Zheng rose, his “holy sword” below the waist would soon break the water’s surface.
Once he was fully out of the water, Yi Ning’s previously excited expression immediately froze.
Now she understood Lu Zheng’s earlier strange expression.
Between Lu Zheng’s abdomen and upper thighs, there hovered… a black circle?
Pardon Yi Ning’s lack of clarity—she truly didn’t know how to describe it.
It was like the censorship circles used in those 18+ booklets—completely obscuring his holy sword with a pixelated black orb, hovering in mid-air.
So this was Lu Zheng’s new ability?
Admittedly—
It did solve his problem of not being able to exit the water.
But...
Yi Ning bared a twisted grin.
So what if he had a censor orb?
Lu Zheng didn’t seriously think that was enough to beat her, did he?
Let her show him just what a powerless hero was worth!
Her grin turned triumphant.
Yi Ning flexed her fingers, trying to crack her knuckles like Lu Zheng had done earlier.
Unfortunately, she didn’t quite get the technique. After fumbling for a while, no sound came out.
“Mm~”
Annoyed, she flicked her hands down and gave up, beckoning Lu Zheng over.
“Without your ability, you’re nothing! Let me teach you a lesson—when a scientist knows martial arts, no one can stop her!”
“Hwah—!”
She struck an exaggerated martial arts pose: right hand extended forward, left hand drawn back and raised.
Lu Zheng, standing in the water, looked a little helpless.
He stepped toward her.
As the distance between them closed, Yi Ning’s pose gradually shifted into a more proper fighting stance.
Lu Zheng leapt onto the shore and calmly continued forward.
Yi Ning’s focus sharpened, analyzing Lu Zheng for openings. She planned to ambush him the moment he entered range.
But to her surprise, Lu Zheng veered off his approach path.
“Afraid to come closer?”
Her smug expression collapsed into irritation.
She’d gone to the trouble of posing, only for this guy to dodge halfway through.
Lost his powers and now too chicken to fight?
What a coward.
“Loser~ Loser~ Useless loser who only dares to run~”
She taunted gleefully.
“If you’re so scared of me kicking your butt, just get down and kiss my toes while chanting ‘I’m a failure!’ Maybe I’ll let you off out of nostalgia!”
But Lu Zheng’s pixel screen only showed a disdainful emoticon.
He ignored her tantrum and calmly approached the destroyed camera he’d smashed earlier.
Yi Ning suddenly felt uneasy.
“What are you doing?”
Lu Zheng didn’t answer. He crouched down and picked up a mangled camera stand.
Game over.
Yi Ning knew what was coming.
If Lu Zheng destroyed the last functioning camera, he could cancel his current ability and draw a new one—to clobber her with.
To avoid a bad end, Yi Ning tried everything.
“You call yourself a man?! Don’t touch my precious camera! If you’ve got guts, fight me fair and square!”
She tried using her “Taunt” skill.
Sadly, it had no effect.
Lu Zheng raised the stand, aiming at the last intact camera.
For the sake of survival, Yi Ning darted in front of him, positioning herself between him and the target, trying to block his line of sight.
But her frantic flailing was useless.
Just as she landed from a jump, Lu Zheng hurled the stand past her, clipping her head and striking the camera dead-on.
Thunk.
Yi Ning dropped to her knees.
Game over.
For one last desperate bid, Yi Ning whipped out her mini microphone and shouted:
“Dear viewers! The streamer’s about to get beaten up—please shower me with gifts to ease the pain! All proceeds from today’s stream will be donated to charity!”
