Chapter 3 : I, Shay, Didn't Use Cheats!
Shay watched as Sera silently retreated, a hint of inexplicable anticipation appearing in the maid’s eyes.
The Dragon Race’s Little Princess had a belly full of words, but was too embarrassed to voice them.
Actually, she still quite hoped Sera would switch her to a less outrageous opponent, add some water, and boost her own gold content or something…
But why did you retreat, I just wanted a step down!
Sera, be firm here, why are you just watching? As my personal maid, do you really want to see me get into trouble?!
No matter how terrifying the opponent, life still had to go on.
Shay turned her gaze to the Golem Giant.
In front of this behemoth, even if she transformed into her Dragon Race form, she would still be just a tiny thing.
“The Royal Trial, officially begin!” Sera announced loudly.
The magic crystals on the Golem Giant’s body lit up and it began to move. Although its movements were slow, each action was full of an absolute sense of power, shaking the ground as if a small earthquake had occurred.
It walked step by step towards the little silver dragon, the oppressive feeling brought by its immense shadow making Shay dumbfounded.
“Why isn’t the Princess acting?”
“She couldn’t have been scared silly, could she…”
“Is there a possibility that the Princess is charging up a big move?”
She only reacted after hearing the voices of her kinsmen around her and raised her hand.
“Rose Staff!!”
A staff adorned with roses was summoned by Shay and appeared in her hand.
She did indeed possess some outstanding talent in magic, even able to cast spells without an artifact, but auxiliary efficiency with a weapon was always better.
“Fireball Spell!”
Since she didn’t know what to do, why not cast a fireball first!
As Shay’s magic power was conducted to the staff, the roses on it bloomed, and several fireballs burning with fierce flames shot out from the tip of the staff, hitting the Golem Giant’s body like cannonballs.
Boom boom boom!
With the blessing of the Dragon Race bloodline, Shay’s magic possessed considerable power. These few Fireball Spells exploded on the Golem Giant’s body, instantly filling the sky with smoke and dust. In the hazy conditions, everyone could not clearly see the situation in the center of the Arena.
“Did it fall…?!” Shay’s eyes were full of anticipation.
Buzz!
In the smoke and dust, the magic crystal’s light grew brighter, illuminating the Golem Giant’s outline; it was still advancing steadily.
Oh no, it’s the classic segment of smoke but no damage!
“Is the power of the Fireball Spell not enough to break its defense?”
Shay quickly began to recall if she had ever learned any useful spells before.
She seemed to remember that her teacher had previously said they would teach her a particularly powerful spell, something like a forbidden curse…
But because it was particularly difficult to learn, Shay just—
It was too much trouble, so she skipped class.
In short, she gave up.
Why did I give up back then!!
Shay cried with a small face, holding her head, filled with regret.
But the Golem Giant would not give her a chance to wallow in regret, continuing to advance, it was already close at hand.
“If attack spells don’t work, then use control spells!” Shay quickly changed her approach, “Blizzard!”
The staff glowed with a light opposite to before and coldness descended upon the center of the Arena under Shay’s casting.
Wind and snow began to blow at the Golem Giant’s feet, and a severe cold spread upwards from its feet, clinging to every corner of the Golem Giant’s body.
Shay wanted to use this method to delay the Golem Giant’s actions, thereby creating more openings, aiming for its weakness for focused attacks.
This was only the first phase; Shay still had the second phase of the offense.
“Icefall!”
Ice crystals in the wind and snow gathered and transformed into sharp giant cones, circling above the Golem Giant’s head and after locking onto the target, they suddenly fell.
This line of thinking was completely correct: first control it, then hit it hard.
Previously, when Shay was cultivating, she used this method to easily defeat many magical beasts and enemies, earning excellent evaluations from her teacher.
But the premise of such tactics was – the opponent didn’t have exaggerated magic resistance.
Buzz buzz!
The Golem Giant swung its massive arm, increasing its output power and the exaggerated force dispersed the Blizzard.
Although Shay’s Icefall did work, destroying the surface shell and creating large, visible cracks, the Golem Giant quickly absorbed the surrounding magic power and within a few breaths, repaired the cracks completely, as good as new.
“The Princess’s magic power is truly outstanding, it can even break through the Golem Giant’s defense.”
“Too bad it was a cross-tier challenge. If it were a Golem Giant of the same tier, the Princess’s spell just now should have already hit the core.”
“Indeed, still not as good as Her Majesty the Queen back then. This must be her limit already.”
Shay was now burning with anxiety. This hateful Golem Giant! If its magic defense wasn’t maxed out, she would have killed it ten… no, even a hundred times over!
The Golem Giant reached Shay, raising its arm high. Its massive attack range left her nowhere to escape.
Heavy smash, hit!
Facing a powerful blow that was like Mount Tai pressing down on her, Shay, at the last second, unleashed an Ice Magic Shield to surround herself, for defense.
Dong!!
With a loud crash, the ground shattered, and Shay also lost her balance, falling down.
“Princess!!”
Sera was very anxious, quickly focusing her gaze, wanting to confirm if the Little Princess had fallen to the ground with her mouth open and eyes closed, teary-eyed and in big trouble.
However, due to the double blessing of the Ice Magic Shield and her inherent Dragon Race physical strength, Shay did not suffer any serious injuries, but she instantly consumed a lot of magic power, falling into an extremely disadvantageous situation.
On the other hand, the Golem Giant had almost no consumption at all.
It seemed the outcome of the battle was already decided.
“Am I… going to lose?”
Shay’s slender arms propped her up on the ground, her silver vertical pupils already wavering.
About to face defeat, her mind went blank.
It felt as if the entire world consisted only of herself and the Golem Giant, which was delivering its final blow.
She recalled some hazy memories; once upon a time, she too was almost in despair, facing an almost unbeatable enemy.
But her choice then was…
Not to yield.
Her pupils suddenly contracted, their sharpness fully revealed, and the past realm sealed within Shay’s heart awakened.
“No, I… I don’t want to lose!”
Shay struggled to stand up, flung away the Rose Staff and grasped at thin air.
“Holy Sword! Gram!!”
A mysterious imprint appeared on the back of the Silver Dragon Little Princess’s hand, summoning a Holy Sword. Light burst forth and she instinctively grasped it between both hands, unleashing a dazzling slash towards the Golem Giant.
The unstoppable sword tore open the Golem Giant’s hard outer shell, severed its core, and it crashed to the ground.
The battle ended.
Shay instantly killed it with one sword strike.
“What happened?” This time it was Sera’s turn to be dumbfounded.
The Dragon Race members on site, due to their extreme astonishment, fell silent, as if Silent Warlocks had cast their ultimates across the entire map.
After a while, Shay’s eyes returned to their normal state. She recovered, and seeing the scene before her, she was also stunned.
“Eh?”
Her gaze moved to the sword in her hand…
Why did it look so familiar?
