“Get on!”
With a stern shout, Vanessa’s voice remained as strict as ever. “Gladys didn’t send you to Wode Academy to mess around. If you can’t even manage this, you’ll let her down badly.”
“But… but…”
Erika tried to say something, but nothing came out.
She truly had no way to explain her misery.
With no other choice, Erika walked forward with her legs clamped together, shuffling awkwardly in front of everyone like a clumsy duck.
And after just a few steps, Erika felt she couldn’t hold on much longer.
If her steps got even a little wider, the warmth down below would start leaking. If it weren’t for her underwear holding the line, it would’ve already burst out.
“Hurry up! Why are you stopping halfway!”
Vanessa barked impatiently when Erika froze mid-step.
Face burning red, Erika forced herself to raise her head, her crimson pupils glaring fiercely at Vanessa.
I hate you, you big brute of a woman!
Taking the tiniest steps forward, Erika felt like this was the hardest path she had ever walked.

Vanessa let out a helpless sigh. She assumed Erika was trembling because she was scared of the Goldenhorn Beast.
Which made sense—Erika might have strong magic, but she was still a little girl. Anyone would be scared facing a beast like the Goldenhorn, especially after watching two students get kicked.
“Erika, I don’t expect much from you. You don’t have to tame it, just get the Goldenhorn to be friendly with you.”

“Of course. That Goldenhorn doesn’t have any sense of chivalry. She’s doomed.”

The new students murmured among themselves. To them, Erika was seconds away from being booted sky-high.
Some already covered their eyes, unable to watch such a cute girl get beaten up.
But Erika herself didn’t care one bit about the horned beast in front of her—she just wanted this over with so she could go home!

The Goldenhorn Beast noticed someone approaching and reared up dramatically, nearly reaching three meters in height. It stomped its hooves, declaring its rage.
A gust of dust swept out, making it hard to see clearly.

Some even imagined she’d been stomped to death by the beast.

Those crimson eyes glared at the Goldenhorn with embarrassment and rage. She looked ready to eat it alive.

Everyone—including the rampaging beast—froze at the sound.
The Goldenhorn Beast miraculously stopped. Its tall frame began to tremble, and its eyes darted nervously at Erika, filled with a flicker of fear.

As the beast calmed down, the dust began to settle.

Still glaring, Erika bared her little fangs and snarled, “If you don’t get me out of here RIGHT NOW, I’ll roast you for dinner!”

As if it understood her, the Goldenhorn didn’t hesitate—it immediately galloped off the plaza with Erika on its back.
As the dust settled…
“What just happened…?”
Everyone was stunned, eyes locked on Erika riding off on the Goldenhorn.
“Am I seeing things?”
One student rubbed his eyes, thinking he must be dreaming.
Someone even slapped themselves in disbelief.
“I swear, Erika is the first new student to ride the Goldenhorn.”
“This is… so weird…”
The students all turned toward Vanessa.
“Miss Vanessa… Erika just rode off on the Goldenhorn.”
“I know…”
Vanessa scratched her head, looking dazed.
She’d thought Erika would get kicked. Who knew the girl would not only survive but ride off with the beast like it was no big deal?
What was going on!?
“Then… Miss Vanessa… since the Goldenhorn is gone, what do we do next…?”
Snapping back, Vanessa yelled, “What do you think? You expect me to let you ride AIR!?”

“Everyone, line up!”
Vanessa took a deep breath and slapped her face, then declared, “That’s it for today’s riding lesson. Anyone who didn’t get to experience the Goldenhorn—run twenty laps around the plaza!”
“Yes, ma’am…”
The torment continued, leaving the students groaning.
But as they started running, someone made a discovery.
“Look! There’s blood on the ground!”
“Oh no—is that Erika’s blood?!”
“She got hurt by the Goldenhorn!? Oh no, poor Erika!”
