Former Hero, Solo Play Oriented - Chapter 36

The new adventure area reached after passing the outpost rocky mountain region from ‘Rozelia Plains.’

The first village of ‘Silva Plains,’ ‘Kirine Village.’

At this point, when more people have completed farming the outpost and many have started advancing to the next area, I began my adventure in the next region naturally, starting to touch on sub-quests one by one rather than rushing for fast leveling.

I had been running solely for leveling and gold until now, and I thought it would be nice to wander the Astria continent leisurely while doing small quests.

There was also the purpose of gradually learning about the current Astria continent through sub-quests.

Anyway, this is the world I’ll have to live in from now on. It wouldn’t hurt to know deeply about the lifestyles and culture of the NPCs in this era’s Astria continent.

Among the sub-quests, there were quests directly related to leveling up like ‘Kill a few monsters,’ but there were also many simple quests that could be done within the village.

From small errand quests, letter delivery quests, to ingredient farming quests. The types were diverse.

Today, I was doing one sub-quest that could be received within Kirine Village.

But.

“I see why no one but story maniacs do this.”

[Copopo’s Egg]

[Quest Item]

[It seems it needs to be kept warm]

Thump thump.

I was carrying a bird’s egg as big as my head.

Just a simple egg delivery, it was a quest with meager rewards and no apparent meaning.

But most sub-quests were of this kind.

Anyway, once I decided to do it, I had to do it with responsibility.

This ‘Copopo Egg Delivery’ quest seemed simple at first glance but required a high level of concentration.

The quest is successful if you deliver the egg while keeping it warm by heating it at fireplaces installed at intervals along the route from the Copopo farm on the outskirts of the village to the cooking shop in the village. If the egg cools down in the middle, the cooking shop won’t accept it.

Why? Aren’t they going to cook it anyway?

There were many points I wanted to nitpick, but anyway, since that’s how they said to do it, I had no choice but to do as told.

Now, just a little further, it’s the first fireplace. After heating the egg for 5 seconds on this fireplace, I just need to pick it up and start again.

Thud.

While I was taking a short break after putting the egg down on the first fireplace.

Whoosh!

“Ah.”

The Copopo egg placed on the fireplace suddenly disappeared.

My sight caught a user running away hurriedly with the egg I had been doing the quest with.

I blankly watched that sight.

Why did they take it? It’s just a quest item.

The blue-haired user who took my egg, appearing to be a human male, was grinning while holding the egg he took at a spot slightly off my quest route.

Please give it back.

If you take that, I can’t do the quest.

I wanted to say that, but being extremely reluctant to talk with others, I couldn’t bring myself to ask him to return it.

It can’t be helped. I don’t know what that user’s purpose is, but having lost the egg, I had no choice but to return to the Copopo farm and get another one.

When I was heating the second egg I brought back on the fireplace.

Whoosh!

That user from earlier ran away with the egg again.

“Uugh.”

Tears welled up slightly in my eyes.

This confirmed it. That user just wanted to harass people doing quests.

I timidly glared at the user, who took my egg while making a tearful face in front of the fireplace.

“Oh.”

That bad user suddenly drew in a sharp breath, then approached while avoiding my gaze and put the egg back on the fireplace.

“Ah.”

I don’t know why, but the egg came back.

I smiled brightly and moved to the next fireplace carrying the egg.

“Hmm. Copopo is like the chicken of this world, I guess.”

Still, there was some knowledge gained while performing sub-quests.

In the Astria continent of the time when I was active, food was very scarce. Because the land was polluted by demonic energy, it wasn’t easy to grow crops except for a few highly adaptable ones.

Copopo is a kind of flightless bird that grows almost as big as a person. If it were on Earth, would it be like a tasty ostrich?

People of this era’s Astria continent succeeded in domesticating Copopos. The skewer I first tasted when I came to the Astria continent was also Copopo meat.

While heading towards the plains after receiving a monster subjugation sub-quest in the village, I opened the messenger window.

[Yin-Yang Master ‘Chris’ (Online)]

-What are you doing, unnie?

-Hunting in Rozelia Forest!

I smiled brightly upon receiving Chris’s immediate reply.

These days, I was communicating with Chris like this once in a while.

My communication skills have made great progress compared to my former self, who always kept messages in reject status. Of course, I’d turn it off during solo dungeon runs.

Rozelia Forest was a PVP field.

Hunting means she’s beating up the minions of the Betarion Empire.

I recalled the blue-haired human male user who took my egg earlier.

Judging by the faction clothes he wore, which were those of the Betarion Empire, his affiliation was clearly the Betarion Empire.

Usually, ordinary users take off their faction clothes outside PVP fields, but if a user is wearing them even in normal fields, they must be a hardcore PVP user.

Chris, who is hunting people now, must be busy.

I left just one necessary message and closed the messenger window.

-Hang in there, unnie. And if you see a blue-haired user there, please scold them first.

“Good.”

This Silva Plains area, like the Rozelia Plains area, will probably have the next elite dungeon sealed.

There hasn’t even been news of an elite dungeon discovery yet, and this game is slowly adjusting its content consumption rate, so it can be considered certain.

There’s no need to rush leveling up. I can enjoy a leisurely adventure while polishing my damage cycle and doing sub-quests.

The monsters mainly seen in Silva Plains were large bipedal monsters. Ogre and troll type monsters had strong attack power and lots of HP.

Still, users who have come this far are all heroes of reversal who have finished farming the outpost. They weren’t pushovers who would fall to these level of monsters.

The fact that they have a lot of HP means they’re perfect practice dummies for testing damage cycles.

I decided to test each of my skills that had ranked up.

Pitter-patter!

Targeting an ogre in front of me as prey, I quickly approached it.

“Grrrr!”

Whoosh!

The ogre that soon recognized me swung its huge club.

[Counterattack (C)]

[Take the opponent’s rear (Cooldown 8 seconds)]

[(D rank) Invincible during casting]

[(C rank) Transition to ‘Sword Drawing Stance’ when used]

[Block (A)]

-Blocks attacks from the front 180 degrees.

-(A rank) On successful block within 0.2 seconds of skill use, gain a ‘Vigor’ buff that increases all damage for 10 seconds.

Clang!

As I blocked the club with perfect timing, the Vigor buff swirled around my body.

Then, as I used Counterattack, my body soon moved behind the ogre’s back, simultaneously transitioning to Sword Drawing Stance.

Slash slash slash!

“Kuoooo!”

Thud.

The ogre, its body slashed by Starlight Slash accompanied by the Vigor buff, instantly exhausted all its HP and collapsed. Due to its large attack interval, it couldn’t even make its next attack.

“Huh.”

I blankly looked down at the ogre that had lost its life.

Now field monsters were no longer sufficient as practice partners for my damage cycle. Even an ogre with lots of HP couldn’t withstand even one cycle.

Perhaps because I diligently used Counterattack every cooldown while dealing with Galovan in the outpost, the skill’s rank had increased.

The C-rank Counterattack skill had the ‘usable in Sword Drawing Stance’ condition removed and ‘transition to Sword Drawing Stance when used’ added.

If used in Sword Drawing Stance, it’s the same as before.

If used in normal stance, it transitions to Sword Drawing Stance.

In other words, now I can transition to Sword Drawing Stance every 8 seconds without relying on Moonlight Slash. It had great synergy with the Vigor buff that lasts for 10 seconds.

Just activate the 0.2-second Just Guard judgment once every 10 seconds to get the Vigor buff, then maintain Sword Drawing Stance while evading attacks and dealing extreme damage.

Swordsman was an easy and strong class.

I hope it doesn’t get nerfed?

Isn’t this that kid from before? The owner of the first full set of Orc Warrior outfit who was screenshot in Orc Forest.

I stopped by before doing Rozelia Forest’s daily quests and took the egg because it was cute walking around with it.

But they looked teary-eyed, so I felt really guilty and gave it back;;;

[Comments]

-It is that kid lolololol Still so damn cute, look.

-Ooooh… wow… Lolololol

-Wow you’re really a devil. How could you take an egg from such a cute kid.

-Is this really a minor? Or just shrunk with customization? I want to take them dungeon running.

-Hey, you’re Betarion Empire, right? Don’t go do Rozelia Forest’s daily quests now. Chris is rampaging. You’ll lose all your raw magic stones.

ㄴThe poster has blue hair customization too. Blue hair is the main target. Chris is chasing down blue-haired customizations like crazy now. Almost like a bull.
