Scorched by the blinding sun, Su Qin couldn’t open his eyes. He raised a hand to shield them.
After watching the sky for a while, he returned indoors, sat in front of his computer, and—almost out of habit—launched his game and logged in. The cursor hovered over Start Game, but his index finger had lost all strength. He couldn’t press it.
Rubbing his temples, he walked to the bed, popped open a can of beer, and drank it in one go—just like he would a Coke.
The malt bitterness tore through all his senses, yet he couldn’t taste even a hint of sweetness. To him, beer wasn’t just bitter—it was nearly undrinkable. He truly couldn’t understand how anyone could get drunk on something so foul.
But he closed his eyes and downed the entire can anyway.
As long as it made him drunk, that was enough. Maybe that was the only reason people drank at all.
Dizziness came almost immediately, his world tilting before his eyes as drowsiness surged like a tide to drown his consciousness.
Thud.
He collapsed to the floor.
"Finally, I can get some real sleep," he thought.
Right then, the annoying ring of a phone exploded in his ears. He didn’t want to answer, but after four or five rings, the call auto-connected. That voice—so pleasant it was almost aggravating—cut through everything and resounded directly in his mind:
“This game companionship lasted a total of three hours. Your reward is... a chance for revenge!”
Su Qin opened his hazy eyes and let out a cold laugh. “What’s your name?”
The voice replied playfully, “You can call me Pan. Or Boss Pan. Whatever you like. Just keep me entertained while we game. So, Su Qin—are you ready to accept your reward?”
“Why wouldn’t I be.”
Pan’s voice turned suddenly robotic and stiff. “Deal!”

What did alcohol really give people? Most of the time, Su Qingqing didn’t understand. But she did understand one thing: she had forgotten to close the curtains the night before.
So the next morning, sunlight stabbed directly through her eyelids, violently piercing her last traces of drowsiness.
“Mmm~”
She stretched with a soft groan, but the sweet sound cut off abruptly. She raised a hand as fair and smooth as mutton-fat jade to cover her cherry lips.
Her dazed consciousness snapped awake. She threw back the covers and sat up, only to feel a sudden swaying sensation in her chest.
“??”
Su Qingqing never had the habit of sleeping in clothes. So now, wide-eyed in shock, she stared at the two soft mounds that had burst free from the covers and bounced under the sunlight.
They trembled lightly—like flower buds on the verge of blooming—each tipped with a delicate pearl.
Just big enough to fill one hand. Perfectly curved. Enough to shape an alluring figure or be tucked away under flattering clothes.
But—why were they on her?
Panic-stricken, Su Qingqing scrambled out of bed and pulled out her ID.
The name Su Qin had been changed to Su Qingqing, and under gender, it clearly read: Female.
Sunlight streamed into the room, casting a glow on the naked upper body of a girl who now sat curled slightly inward. Her petite feet shifted nervously; her fair, pink-tinted knees brushed and rubbed together. Her long hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, a single strand slipping past her ear.
Su Qingqing instinctively tucked her hair behind her ear—and that simple motion, so natural, made her collagen-rich face instantly flush red.
Why… why does this feel so natural?!
The phone rang again. Flustered and annoyed, Su Qingqing picked up and immediately burst out in rage, her sweet voice now laced with fury:
“You bastard! Pervert! How could you do something like this?!”
Anyone who thought Su Qingqing was gentle to the core was sorely mistaken. After years of surviving in the savage lands of online trash talk, she had no shortage of venom. She gritted her teeth so hard she nearly cracked them, hurling curse after vicious curse at the caller.
But the line remained silent.
Finally, after a long pause, a cough came from the other end.
“Excuse me, is this Su Qingqing? I’m Ming Xue, your class assistant. A University starts tomorrow, and I’m just calling to remind you to report in on time.”
Su Qingqing fell completely silent. Her face burned with shame as her brain fogged up.
Her lips trembled, and she managed to force out a single word: “Okay.”
But just before the call ended, Ming Xue added shyly, “Actually… when Su Qingqing curses… it sounds kinda nice…”
…What kind of pervert is that?! And what’s more—I’m not!
Su Qingqing knelt on the floor, staring at her now-dark phone in complete dismay.
The phone rang again. This time, she carefully checked the number before answering.
As expected, it was Pan, laughing mischievously.
“Classmate Qingqing, how does it feel to be a girl now?”
“Not great. And why did I have to become a girl in the first place?” Su Qingqing didn’t even notice the bitterness in her tone as she pouted, head down, her watery eyes glistening like a lake.
Anyone gazing into that lake would fall in—completely unable to pull away.
“Because you said you wanted revenge.”
“I never said that.”
“You did.”
“I don’t remember.”
“Drunk words speak truth.”
“……”
Shallow memories from the previous night floated to the surface. Su Qingqing fell silent.
“Since Mengmeng said she’s not into men anymore, the best revenge is obviously to become a girl yourself. That way you can really get back at her.”
Su Qingqing’s expression shifted into something odd. She tilted her stunningly beautiful face upward and stared at the ceiling blankly. “But isn’t that a little extreme…? Don’t tell me… you're one of those people?”
Pan quickly denied it. “I’m not a white dolphin. I don’t have any weird fantasies about cuddling with girls. Definitely not. Buuut... if I did cuddle, I guess it’d be a little sweet…”
Su Qingqing flopped back onto the bed. Her chest bounced like ripples, settling again, perky and proud under the air.
Her fair skin glowed like jade in the golden sunlight.
“What? Given up already?”
“Being a guy or a girl doesn’t feel all that different.” Su Qingqing’s gaze grew distant for a moment. A wave of old memories surfaced, then faded.
“Who was that Ming Xue person? I don’t remember applying to any college.”
Pan’s voice was full of playful allure. “I made a few teeny tweaks to your life. There are lots more surprises ahead—go discover them! Boy—no wait—girl!”
Beep beep.
The line was cut off.
Su Qingqing pulled on her clothes. Aside from being a bit more petite, nothing else felt too different, except perhaps that her game companionship career was about to reach new heights?
She glanced down at the small points pressing through her T-shirt. Her face flushed red again. Her frame might be smaller now—but some parts had definitely gotten bigger.
Honestly, Su Qingqing didn’t know whether she really wanted revenge. But every time she silently mouthed the name Yu Zhongmeng, she felt an inexplicable ache in her chest.
Then, she understood:
Some things didn’t need deliberate decisions to become real.
The body’s reactions—were answers in their own right.
