Su Yun turned around to look.
“Meow~” The little cat let out a sweet cry, like a newborn kitten.
Pretty cute—probably doesn’t bite, right?
Su Yun carefully reached her hand toward the orange cat.
“Ah…” But just as she stretched out her hand, the orange cat suddenly leapt toward her.
Crap!
Su Yun reacted even faster, dodging so the cat pounced into thin air and landed flat on the ground.
“Meooow…” The orange cat let out a pitiful wail, sounding completely miserable.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I thought you were going to bite me.” Su Yun hurried over and picked up the cat.
The orange cat lay in her arms silently, as if it was sulking like a person would.
“I’m sorry…” Su Yun felt guilty, and bravely reached out to pet its head.
Soft, fluffy—felt really nice to the touch.
“Meow.”
No idea how long she had been petting, but the orange cat finally made a sound again. Maybe it forgave her.
“I’ll help you find your owner later, okay? I have to make a phone call first.” Su Yun smoothed the cat’s fur again, then placed it to the side and pulled out her phone.
Thanks to this little incident, her nerves had settled down quite a bit.
But she still wasn’t ready to tell her parents directly that she had become a girl.
Su Yun dialed her father’s number.
“Su Yun? What’s up, calling at noon?” A familiar, warm voice answered from the other end.
“It’s just that…”
“Su Yun, what’s wrong with your voice? Still haven’t recovered from the sore throat? Your mom brought cough syrup and Banlangen—didn’t you take it?”
Su Yun hadn’t even finished her sentence when her father immediately picked up on something being off.
“I didn’t take it. I don’t think this is a problem with sore throat.”
Su Yun had only made her voice sound a little bit hoarse, but it already came out completely feminine.
“Then what’s going on? Do you want me to come over right now and take some leave?”
The middle-aged man’s voice was clearly anxious. But just as he mentioned “leave,” a loud female voice cut in from the background.
“The factory finally has work today, and you’re talking about taking leave? What for?” The woman’s tone was impatient and loud, instantly silencing the man.
A moment later, a gentle female voice came through the phone.
“Baby, are you feeling unwell? If you are, your dad will come now. If not, we’ll come on Sunday afternoon.”
“I’m fine, I’m fine. Sunday is fine.” Su Yun replied. By this point she wasn’t faking anything anymore, her soft, girlish voice was recorded clearly on the phone.
Even so, she still couldn’t bring herself to say that thing.
But eventually, she would have to say it…
“Mom, what would you think about having a daughter?”
“Why are you asking that all of a sudden? Just having my baby is enough. We can’t afford to raise another one. If you’re feeling sore throat, take some Banlangen. Didn’t I pack several packets in the suitcase?”
Her mother’s warm voice came through the phone again, making Su Yun feel both happy and helpless.
They ended up chatting for nearly ten more minutes. Her mom kept asking, “Are you sad? Should we come today?”
At first she insisted on working overtime today and how taking leave would dock their pay, but in the end, it still turned into pure concern for their ‘daughter’.
The instinctive refusal was about money; the change of heart came from love.
In the end, Su Yun still told them to come on Sunday afternoon. She didn’t say the truth.
Some things are better said face-to-face.
And she really wasn’t ready to see her parents yet. She needed at least a couple days to mentally prepare.
After all, they’d raised a son for over ten years, and now suddenly she’d become a girl. In the future, she’d be getting married, and in their last years, they’d be left all alone. Just thinking about it—it was lonely and sad.
Though Su Yun was sure she’d never get married, so that part wasn’t happening.
……
Su Yun sat by the bed in a daze for a long time.
She thought about everything that had happened—sad things, happy things.
Then she thought about the future. Forget the ID issue for now, even her blood had to come from Qin Xue—what would she do when she was on her own in the future?
Without realizing it, by the time she checked her phone again, it was already 1:30 in the afternoon.
When she got home, it was exactly noon.
“Mm… better head out. No point just sitting around thinking like this.”
“Ugh, feeling a little dizzy…” Su Yun’s expression was full of confusion. When she stood up, she nearly fell over from the imbalance.
She walked to the window, wanting to take down the dress, but the moment sunlight hit her skin, it felt like she was being burned.
Crap… looks like my condition has gotten worse.
Suddenly, Su Yun felt scared she’d lose control and bite someone again.
She quickly grabbed the drying pole to take down the dress.
A clean, simple white dress. The hem reached about five centimeters below her knees. She tied the belt snugly around her waist and considered it worn.
Standing in front of the mirror, Su Yun was a bit stunned.
Her waist was so tiny—about half of what it was when she was still a guy.
In the mirror, the girl’s pale, delicate little feet were bare on the floor. Somehow it felt like a waste—they should be used for something else.
Like slipping on a pair of white stockings.
Su Yun stared at the mirror and, for a moment, truly felt like the girl reflected back was Snow White.
At the same time, she felt the girl looked… delicious. She wanted to eat her.
“…”
“Hallucinations already?” Su Yun shook her head and grabbed her hat and umbrella, ready to leave quickly.
“Meow~” A soft meow came from behind.
“Oh right, you too.”
……
After heading downstairs, Su Yun gave the orange cat to the landlord, asking them to help find the owner.
As she left, she thought she heard the cat’s wail, like it still wanted her to play.
But she couldn’t stay—she had to go.
Dragging her heavy body, Su Yun finally managed to get on the bus.
She sat near the front and looked up at the not-too-crowded bus interior.
There weren’t many people, but still some—mostly students heading out in pairs, upperclassmen from her university.
Looking closely, she even spotted a pretty upperclasswoman in black stockings, with a sweet and delicate face.
What pissed her off was that standing next to her was a guy whose head nearly reached the overhead rail—he had to be at least 1.85 meters tall, and he was handsome too.
They were chatting happily.
Youth really is nice.
A flicker of jealousy passed through Su Yun’s heart, but it quickly faded. She shifted her gaze back to her phone.
“Snow White” Fan Club.
Su Yun saw the chat group had over 99+ unread messages and clicked it open.
The screen was filled with pure hype.
Truly full of passion—every other message was “smash,” “fuck,” that kind of thing.
After lunch, Zhang Deyi had taken a dozen like-minded fans and gone wandering around campus.
To be fair, a group of ten-plus young, hot-blooded male students—that was serious combat power.
At noon, they had split up to search and regrouped at the front of the North Campus Building 2A boys’ dorm, where a few outsiders had been spreading rumors.
Despite those guys being grown men from outside school, within minutes, Zhang Deyi’s crew had them all pinned and dragged to the security office.
(Me: You guys are amazing. No one got hurt, right?)
Su Yun asked in the group, concerned.
(Zhang Deyi: What could possibly happen? But damn, those guys had nasty mouths. Saying whatever they wanted. If we didn’t have to worry about losing course credits, I’d have smashed their faces in.)
Su Yun read it, full of gratitude.
(Me: You didn’t have to go that far… thank you all.)
(Zhang Deyi: Thank me for what?)
“Hmm?” Su Yun saw his question and instantly realized she’d sent the wrong message. She quickly deleted it.
(Me: I mean, thank you for helping out that girl.)
(Zhang Deyi: Oh? That? It’s nothing. I just needed an outlet for my frustration. Those guys basically volunteered.)
Zhang Deyi quickly believed her.
Su Yun breathed a sigh of relief.
She figured, if Zhang Deyi ever found out that the “Snow White” he was supporting was actually his roommate of six months—he might be too shocked to eat for days.
Heh.
……
Su Yun ended up falling asleep on the bus. She had no energy left.
She woke up just before her stop and didn’t miss it.
After getting off, she opened her black umbrella and slowly walked through the crowded city streets.
It was a long walk, but eventually she arrived at the gate of a lavishly decorated villa.
Click…
“Ugh…” She pushed the door open with difficulty, feeling like she was at her limit.
“Young Miss, she’s here.” One of the maids still cleaning the main hall shouted inside.
Su Yun’s eyes instantly locked on the speaker.
It was the strict head maid who usually treated her the harshest.
Normally, Su Yun would retreat two steps just seeing her. But now, in Su Yun’s eyes, the head maid was nothing more than a delicious young woman.
“It smells so good here…”
Su Yun had held it together in the crowded streets. But now, in Qin Xue’s home, she couldn’t resist anymore.
In a blur, she pounced on the head maid, instantly pinning her to the floor.
“Ugh… you?” The maid let out a pained gasp from the collision.
Her headband fell to the floor, and her long, elegant hair spilled over her shoulders. Compared to her usual strict appearance, she now had a softer, more little-sister vibe.
But she wasn’t afraid. On the contrary, she hugged Su Yun tightly—afraid Su Yun might hurt someone else.
“You, go get Miss!”
