Chapter 114

Later that evening, Su Yun’s father brought home a crowd of guests. The family of that police chief had already left earlier—these were all Su Yun’s relatives.

Su Yun didn’t enjoy noisy scenes like this. She planned to quietly take her dinner back to her room, but to her surprise, Qin Xue seemed completely enthusiastic. Not only did she come in with her, she even started chatting comfortably with her grandfather and uncle.

“Su Yun…”

Standing at the bedroom door, Su Yun watched from a distance, realizing that girls like Qin Xue clearly enjoyed being around others. She was different from herself—someone gloomy and withdrawn.

At that moment, Su Yun’s older male cousin sat beside her father. The second he saw the long-legged beauty appear in front of him, he started sneaking glances at her.

There was no question—girls like this were leagues above anyone back in the village. City girls really were on another level. Watching it happen, Su Yun felt a mix of helplessness and jealousy.

But then she remembered—back at school, people stealing glances at Qin Xue was nothing new. It wasn’t a big deal.

Still… why was she getting jealous just because someone else was looking at Qin Xue?

“Su Yun’s always been a hardworking child—the first college student from the Fulin family,” her grandfather said proudly to the unfamiliar girl sitting next to him.

“Su Yun? Isn’t it Xiaoyun?” Qin Xue, sitting across the table, frowned slightly at the unfamiliar name.

Well… not exactly unfamiliar. She had definitely heard that name before.

She began to think it over.

“!”

The older folks talked loudly. Even from the bedroom door, Su Yun could hear everything.

And the moment she did, her entire body jolted.

This is bad.

“Uh—Sister Xue! Something urgent! Come here for a second!” Just as her grandfather was about to say more, Su Yun shouted hastily.

“Oh—okay.”

“Sorry, I need to check on Sister Xiaoyun,” Qin Xue apologized sweetly and excused herself from the conversation. She quickly stood up and headed toward the bedroom.

She had been making such an effort for their future—and Su Yun was the most important part of that future.

As she left, her cousin’s gaze followed her, full of reluctant longing.

To him, between cute lolis in white stockings and big-sister types with curves—he clearly preferred the latter.

Click.

As soon as Qin Xue stepped into the room, she saw Su Yun standing at the door.

Su Yun slipped past her and immediately locked it.

“?” Qin Xue blinked in confusion. The way Su Yun moved so naturally… it almost made her wonder if something bad was going to happen.

“Sister Xiaoyun, what’s wrong?” she asked gently, looking down at the younger girl. But Su Yun just stood there, not turning around.

She didn’t even know what excuse to make yet. All she knew was—she couldn’t let Qin Xue keep chatting with her grandfather.

Aside from her dad and uncle, none of her relatives knew the truth about her.

If Qin Xue found out through a conversation like that, things would get messy.

Panic and dread were already creeping through her.

She’d dragged Qin Xue away for no good reason—what if she got annoyed?

“Hmm? Why aren’t you saying anything?” Qin Xue poked Su Yun’s soft head from behind. Her finger sank in, and Su Yun instinctively leaned forward.

“Ugh… don’t poke…”

“Sister Xiaoyun, what’s going on? You sounded so urgent.”

“There’s… nothing. I just… wanted you to talk with me,” Su Yun turned around, face flustered, and blurted out the first thing that came to mind.

“Oh?”

Qin Xue blinked, surprised—and then burst into a giggle.

“Pfft, I didn’t think Sister Xiaoyun would be this possessive.”

“Ugh…” Su Yun looked away in embarrassment, unable to meet her eyes.

“But we’re just friends right now, you know. If you don’t let me talk to others, I’ll have no one left to talk to. I only have you, Sister Xiaoyun. If I stay by your side forever… doesn’t that sound like we’re married?”

She looked at Su Yun with a teasing lilt in her voice, her tone both soft and flirtatious.

“M-Married?! That’s not what I meant! I-I just… I want you to play with me, that’s all!”

Su Yun shook her head furiously, panicked and unsure how to explain, “Okay, okay. Think whatever you want. Just don’t go out anymore. Let’s eat and rest.”

“Alright~ I’ll stay here with you. No more chatting with them, okay?” Qin Xue smiled warmly, her eyes full of fondness as she sat down on the bed.

“Whew…” Su Yun finally relaxed when she saw Qin Xue stay.

“Hm?”

“You look really happy, Sister Xiaoyun. You wanted me to keep you company that badly~ Should’ve just told me earlier.”

Qin Xue straightened her back on purpose, and Su Yun couldn’t help but sneak a few glances.

“…Let’s eat!” Su Yun quickly changed the subject, grabbing the meal box from the cabinet and sitting down with Qin Xue to eat.

(As usual, her parents had bought dinner “for their son.”)

After they finished, they tossed the empty boxes in the trash. Then, Su Yun sat beside Qin Xue and started scrolling through her phone, not even sparing her a glance.

Tomorrow was going to be a long day, and though sleep probably wouldn’t come easy, she still wanted to rest early.

She lay on the bed, absentmindedly scrolling through short videos.

She always watched them on mute—less noise that way.

Still, out of ten clips, at least five featured good-looking women. Slightly better odds than Zhang Deyi’s collection, but not by much.

Su Yun had always liked mature women in black stockings. She’d always hit “like” whenever one popped up, and kept her contact settings private so no one would find out her preferences.

Now, just like before, she scrolled through these beauty clips, trying to ease her stress and anxiety.

While she scrolled, Qin Xue climbed into bed too, tucking her legs under the blanket. A soft rustling sound followed.

And with it, a light fragrance reached Su Yun’s nose.

Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump…

The longer she scrolled, the faster her heart pounded.

Even during her sprint that afternoon, she hadn’t felt this. Normally, her heart felt lifeless.

But now—it was racing with excitement.

“Haa…” Breathing heavily, Su Yun stared at the screen, her lips parting slightly.

The curvy older sister in the video was undeniably gorgeous and seductive—even if it was probably fake.

Yet the more she scrolled, the more her mind filled with images of Qin—

“Hmm? Sister Xiaoyun, what kind of videos are you watching?” a voice whispered beside her ear.

Su Yun flinched as Qin Xue leaned in to peek at her phone.

“You watch these kinds of… videos?

“Ahh!”

Startled, Su Yun fumbled the phone, dropping it right onto her chest. She quickly shut off the screen and turned her back to Qin Xue.

“I-It was an accident. I don’t like that stuff!”

She scrambled to explain herself, but her tone only made her guilt more obvious.

“Oh really?” Qin Xue sounded skeptical.

She herself wasn’t into that kind of thing—most of those clips were made by fake influencers or heavily edited anyway. If she wanted something exciting, she'd rather ask someone in her club to act it out. Real, obedient, and far more satisfying.

So no, she didn’t really bother with such “content.”

Su Yun now lay there like a dead fish, not saying a word. She closed her eyes, but her thoughts were in total chaos.

“Sister Xiaoyun? What’s wrong?” Qin Xue asked, gently wrapping her arms around her from behind.

Her voice was soft, but her heart was not entirely calm.

She had come in because Su Yun said she wanted to play and talk. Yet now, after eating, the girl had just ignored her for her phone.

And those videos? They felt like a personal insult.

Am I… not good enough?

“My head feels a little dizzy…”

“Eh? What happened? Sister Xiaoyun!” Qin Xue instantly panicked at the sound of that weak voice.

She threw off her thick coat, revealing her pale shoulders, and scooped Su Yun into her arms in a flash.

“I’m not hungry… It’s more of a… mental dizziness.”

“Huh? What does that even mean?” Holding Su Yun close, her brow furrowed in confusion.

Su Yun stayed still in her embrace, but her heart pounded even faster.

She had already made up her mind—no more of those videos. Ever.

They had once been a fun distraction—but now, with Qin Xue lying beside her, they only made her thoughts race wildly.

Sister Xue was too kind to her.

She couldn’t betray that.

Later, Su Yun gave her a simple explanation, said she was just tired.

Once the relatives left, since they hadn’t bathed in two days, she and Qin Xue showered together.

Thankfully, Qin Xue wasn’t bleeding much anymore. That meant things would likely return to normal tomorrow.

Still, the sight of that flawless figure under the water was simply too much.

That night, once everyone was asleep, Su Yun quietly slipped out of bed and crept into the bathroom—alone.

“”

“!”

“!?”

“!!!!!!”
