(Chapter 9) Bloody End
As the saying goes, when you think things can't get any worse, they probably can. This holds true for this broken simulator as well. Just when Anna thought the simulator couldn't get any weirder, it always manages to come up with something new that would make anyone's eyes go dark.
And Anna's eyes have indeed gone dark.
But the darker her eyes get, the more Anna wants to see what other awful tricks this garbage simulator can pull.
Finding common ground, paying attention to details—it's all nonsense. Anna is now just letting things slide, waiting to see what the simulator will come up with next.
[Feeling guilty towards Helga and nervous about two-timing, you patrol a few streets, but nothing happens.]
[At night, you return home. Helga asks why you didn't come home last night, and you tell her you were busy with patrol duties and had to work overtime.]
[Helga believes your explanation and demands even more from you that night.]
[You become dehydrated!]
[You pass out!]
Go on, let's see how else you can dehydrate.
[Day 16: You wake up groggily, feeling like you've been too indulgent in your desires, exhausted even after a night's sleep.]
[You wearily patrol a few streets and run into Louise halfway. She drags you to her place, and you have a good time.]
[You become dehydrated!]
[You pass out!]
[Endurance B → B+]
[After waking up, you pretend nothing happened and return home, where Helga, who has been waiting for you, pulls you into bed.]
[You become dehydrated!]
Is this never going to end?!
Anna's eyelids twitch as she watches. How did things escalate to this point?
[Helga doesn't push further; she seems worried about something and goes to sleep early.]
[You finally have a normal night's sleep.]
[Day 17: It's your day off. You thought you had to work, but Louise is already waiting at your door.]
[From Louise, you learn that she asked your bald boss for a day off and plans to go on a date with you.]
[However, halfway through the conversation, Helga, wearing only her underwear, walks through the living room and is spotted by Louise.]
So fast? Anna's eyelids twitch again.
[Your two-timing is exposed.]
[Louise, upon learning the truth, bursts into tears and runs away.]
[You want to chase after Louise, but Helga's gaze keeps you from betraying her feelings.]
[Although Helga is upset about your infidelity, she doesn't want to pursue the matter and says she will forgive you.]
...Helga, you're sacrificing too much.
Anna can't imagine the usually hot-tempered tomboy saying she would forgive her for cheating.
[You spend the day in anxiety. To comfort you, Helga takes you to bed.]
[You have a good time.]
[You become dehydrated!]
[You pass out!]
[Endurance B+ → A-]
Anna really can't see where the simulator's Anna feels any guilt.
[Day 18: You wake up and go to work as usual.]
[On the way, as you pass through a small alley, you suddenly smell a strange fragrance.]
[Then, you feel a bit dizzy.]
[You pass out!]
[In a daze, you are awakened by the sound of a boiling kettle.]
[You find yourself tied tightly to a chair with ropes.]
[You try to break free, but your kidnapper—Louise—won't give you the chance.]
[Without a word, Louise kisses you passionately. After a moment of intimacy, she whispers in your ear.]
["From now on, you'll always be mine, senpai."]
[You feel a sharp pain in your stomach.]
[Then, Louise cuts off your head.]
[You die.]
[Simulation ends, calculating results...]
[Achievement unlocked: Two-Timer (Bronze)]
[Achievement unlocked: Bloody End (Gold)]
Finally, it's over.
Anna blinks a few times. As for the final ending, Anna thinks the plot has finally shifted from a sixth-rate erotic novel back to a third-rate emotional drama. The final "kitchen knife" scene is the climax of the plot!
Too bad it's still third-rate. Anna swears she won't watch it a second time... definitely not!
Let's check out the gold achievement, folks.
Originally, Anna thought getting a silver achievement would be tough, but this simulation, though longer and more stomach-churning than the previous three, actually unlocked a gold achievement.
A gold achievement should give a lot of points, right? So, can she exchange them for some good stuff?
Anna immediately opens the achievement interface. Among the countless gray and a few bronze medals, the dazzling gold medal stands out.
[Bloody End (Gold): While juggling two or more lovers, you were killed by a yandere lover who wanted you all to herself, with the sound of a boiling kettle in the background.]
[Rewards: 100 achievement points, Blood-stained Kitchen Knife]
[Platinum unlock conditions: None]
Anna feels like this achievement might be referencing something, but as a native of this world, she can't grasp the underlying meaning.
"But this achievement requires so many conditions to trigger? Maybe I just got lucky this time..."
Anna mutters, choosing to claim the reward.
As 100 achievement points are added to her account, a kitchen knife with a blade stained in crimson liquid appears in her hand.
"Is this blood on the blade mine?"
She can still smell a metallic scent. Anna looks at the kitchen knife in her hand, feeling more and more weird.
If this is really the knife Louise used to kill her in the simulation, holding the murder weapon that killed her... it's just strange.
And what's the use of this kitchen knife anyway?
Anna takes it to the sink, trying to wash off the bloodstains, but no matter how much she rinses, the blood won't come off.
It's as if the knife itself is bleeding.
So, how to store this knife becomes a big problem.
With it constantly dripping blood, if she puts it on a knife rack, it'll probably be covered in blood within a day.
"Ugh... let's see if there's anything good in the achievement point store."
Anna quickly opens the achievement point store. Now that she has enough points to buy 100,000 black breads, surely she can get something good, right?
The long-unseen achievement point store seems to have some small changes, the most noticeable being the "Special Promotion" on the homepage that's hard to ignore.
[Special Promotion: Space Ring, originally 500 points, now only 100 points, a whopping 80% off! The perfect choice for storing illegal or troublesome items!]
...Anna feels like this special promotion is specifically targeting the 100 points she just earned.
One link after another, huh? And an 80% discount? If I don't buy it, isn't that a 100% discount?
